«Music in My Life »

ТЕМА:  «Music in My Life »

ЦЕЛЬ: формирование коммуникативной компетенции обучающихся.

ЗАДАЧИ:

Образовательная: активизация употребления лексики по теме «Музыка», формирование умений в использовании речевых стратегий в монологических высказываниях, расширение словарного запаса, развитие навыков  сотрудничества  через работу в паре и группах, обучение  анализировать и обобщать материал, делать выводы. 

Развивающая: развитие у учащихся познавательного интереса, памяти внимания, развитие умений учебного сотрудничества при выполнении коллективного познавательно- поискового задания развитие монологического высказывания( с опорой), развитие аналитического и критического мышления учащихся, развитие умения учащихся работать в группе, развитие навыков монологической речи, аудирования с выборочным пониманием в формате ЕГЭ, формировать у обучающихся способность работать в различных режимах (учитель-ученик, ученик-ученик, ученик-класс).

Воспитательная: развивать активную жизненную позицию, воспитывать чувство прекрасного, привитие эстетического вкуса, интереса к музыке, развитие художественного вкуса, расширение кругозора учащихся.

Тип урока: урок закрепления новой лексики и речевых образцов с использованием мультимедийной презентации.

Оснащение: компьютер, проектор, экран.

Ход урока:


Hello, children. I am glad to see you. Today we are having an interesting lesson. But first of all I want you to guess one word. Look at the blackboard. You can see a list of words. There is one missing letter in each word. Please write down each missing letter.

So, you see the word MUSIC, and our topic is “Music in my life”. Today we shall speak about different styles in music. On the blackboard you can see a charming quotation:



Music is the universal language of the world”

We are speaking about music today. People say that music is the soundtrack of our life. Other people think that music is what makes the difference between life and just existence. These statements mean that we can`t live without music.

Can we imagine our life without music?


T. But what role does music play in your life?

P2. Music helps us to live and learn.

T. What does music reflect?

P3. It reflects our mood, our state of soul, our style of life.

T. Where can we hear music?

P4. We can hear music everywhere: in concert halls, shops, on TV, over the radio, in the parks, at homes, in transport and even in the street.



Teacher: Now, let`s have brainstorm activity.

I ask you to divide in two groups. The first will brainstorm all the adjectives that come to your mind when you listen to different kinds of music. The second will speak about the influence of music on people. Work in groups, please. ( групповая работа – 2 группы учащихся заполняют следующие кластеры

Student 1:  In our opinion music can be (читает слова, написанные его группой): romantic, boring, appealing, eloquent, fascinating, catchy, touchy, sweet, complicated, relaxing, unforgettable, breathtaking, overwhelming…



Student 2: We have discussed how music can influence people. So, our decision is (читает выводы, написанные его группой): - Music is a part of our life; It can provoke wonderful and complex feelings; It makes people happier, can support them; Music can give us positive emotions, cheerfulness, pleasure;  Music promotes loving feelings; It can`t leave us indifferent;  Music relates to our hopes, dreams, joys and disappointments…

Now we shall play a domino game. All of you will be given a card. Read the definitions on the right column and the name of the style of music on the left, if anybody else reads about your style ( on the left ) you read the definition. We shall read one by one. And we shall finish at the very student who begins.

both music and dance from Latin America, especially Argentina

P1. We are going to tell you about rock. It is my music! As for me I prefer rock all the year round, because it can express all kinds of my mood. I can find a firm support in rock. Within this music I feel strength and stability. Rock music, or, rather rock-n-roll, appeared in the 1950-s. The first rock music is connected with the names of Elvis Presly, Chuck Berry, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, The Doors and some others.

P2. The70-s were the time of revolution in rock music. Lead Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Black Subbath told the world about the beginning of new era of hard rock. I’d say that, of course, tastes differ and everybody is fond of particular genre of music. But I am mad about rock. And now let’s listen to rock music.

P3. We want to tell you about classical music. As for me I have found classical music the closest to my soul. Most of the people of my age would think I’m a bit mad to love Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven in place of Eminem or Tamy. But I find classical music relaxing. This music has been living for centuries. It is heard in every corner of our land. Some people simply don’t understand classical music, but it has a deep intellectual appeal and it creates a special spiritual world for the listener that enriches his inner life and makes him happy.

P4. When I listen to the light classical music as to “Seasons” by Tchaikovsky, I enjoy this wonderful music. It helps me feel much better. Of course, it’s difficult to find the way into serious classical music. I think, we must be taught not only to listen but to understand, which is more important. I like to play classical music. This music makes me feel like dreaming. And now I want you to listen to a peace of classical music.

I love pop music. The dictionary defines pop music as “modern popular music of a simple kind with a strong beat and not usually of lasting interest, liked especially by younger people”. I think it is not difficult for understanding. It’s unusual and exciting and it’s the way of sharing all our hopes and fears. I like to know more and more about popular talented groups and singers I like.

I want to add that unfortunately there are so many ungifted singers on the stages that it makes me sad. I think that only talented people can claim to be singers. As for me I like new rhythms, I prefer pop music. It is probably the result of changing times and influence of mass media. Pop music unites the teenagers all over the world and makes us feel a part of global family. We can hear this music every day and everywhere. I think music is really, first of all, the background of our life, it helps us to live, and it makes our mood. Now let’s listen to my favourite singer Michael Jackson.

Tastes differ. Though we should learn to listen to good music.





3. By the way do you know such style of music as Rockabiri? I want you to read the text called «Rockabiri».

Can you predict what the text is about? (May be it is about different music styles. May be it is about rock. May be it is about people`s attitude to rock.)
Now read the text and see whether you were right.

Rockabiri

In the 1950s rock'n'roll became popular in Japan and many Japanese performers started playing what was called rockabiri or rockabilly. Japanese rockers became leaders of fashion. And groups of young men in leather jackets were seen on street corners. At first they sang American songs, but soon they wrote their own material, even using Japanese folk tales and children's stories.
Soon there were rockabiri concerts and records all over Japan, and later rock was played by groups like the Tempters, The Carnabeats, the Jaguars and the Tigers. It was rather popular.
But as in the West, older people hated the music because it threatened ( угрожала ) traditional values and encouraged violence. High-school students were forbidden to go to the concerts and the music was banned on the radio. Soon the fashion died away and by the end of the 60s rockabiri had disappeared.
Today you can still listen to Japanese rockabiri bands and rockers in the parks and streets of Japan's big cities, surrounded by fans listening and dancing to rock'n' roll - made in Japan.

4. Many teenagers dream of becoming a star. Is it difficult to be a star. Let us name some necessary features to be a star. We work in pairs and make a frame. Complete the sentence - To be a star you must ….

So it is very difficult to be a star. Not everybody can do it. But you can write a fan letter.

Here's a chance to write to your favourite singer . Complete the letter below. If you need any help, look at the suggestions below. Then send your letter and may be one day you'll get an answer (Writing).

5. So our lesson came to an end. What conclusions should we come to ? 1. We can not live without music. Music follows us everywhere. 2. We can listen to different styles according to our tastes. 3. We should develop good musical taste. 4. «Beatles» and «Mashina vremeni» should live forever.
