The theme: Present Simple and Present Continuous

Aims: 1. To improve the skills and oral communication skills

2. To promote the development of curiosity, speech guesses language skills of speaking and writing in a foreign language;

3. To bring up to be patriots of our country.

Type of the lesson: consolidation lesson.

Visual aids: an active board, cards, leaves of autumn

The epigraph of the lesson:Practice  makes  perfect.

The procedure of the lesson:

I. Organization moment: (10 min)

Greetings:

  • Good morning, children!

  • Good morning, teacher!

  • Thank you, sit down! Who is on duty today?

  • Who is absent today?

  • What date and day is it today?

  • Yes, it’s autumn now. The weather is beautiful! The sun is shining! The leaves are falling. And I am glad to see you like this beautiful day. Students, how are you?

  • Today we’ll have an unusual lesson because we have lots of guests in our lesson. I hope our guests will have an enjoyable time with us.

  • Let’s begin our lesson. Come here, please. Circle, please. This is the leaf of Golden Autumn. Your task is saying golden wishes each other for our lesson.

  • To divide into groups with leaves

  • Look at the screen and listen the poem, please

The rain is raining all around,

It falls on field and tree

It rains on the umbrella here

And on the ships at sea.

IV. Актуализация изученного материала. (3 min)

  1. What tenses are used in this poem? Name them.

Тeacher: You are right that there are sentences with Present Simple and Present Continuous. And today’s our lesson’s theme is “Present Simple and Present Continuous”, consolidation lesson. Lesson’s quotation is “Practice makes perfect”. You divided into 2 groups, but you haven’t your name. That is why, the 1st group’s name is “Present Simple” and the 2nd group’s name is “Present Continuous” . Are you ready for the lesson? Let’s begin.

1st step –(4 min) groups should find Present Simple and Present Continuous structure and do poster.

2nd step(4 min) Your home task was ex2, p-28. Workbook. Complete the sentences. Use the negative form of the Present Continuous. Change your notebooks with each other and check them from the screen.

  1. Can I come to town with you? I … (do) anything at the moment.

  2. You can have our tennis rackets. We … (use) them at the moment.

  3. We can go for a walk. It … (rain) now.

  4. I’m trying to phone Nick, but he … (answer).

  5. Kate’s at the cinema, but she … (watch) the film. She is asleep.

  6. Tom and Dave … (listen) to the teacher. They’re bored.

Marking: without mistakes – “5”

1or 2 mistakes –“4”

3 or 4 mistakes – “3”

3rd step – (3 min) Look at the screen. There are vocabulary words. Let’s translate and repeat words: smiling, looking, waiting, drinking, thinking, standing, talking, listening, sitting.

4th step – (5 min) Now open your book on page 53, ex4 and you will listen the Rap and you should guess missing words in

5th step – ( 5 min)Find ex3, p-53. Here you should put the words in the right order and make sentences.

7th step – (3 min)You know that, this year we are going to celebrate 25 years old of our Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. That’s why you should be country love person and take part in all events, to be patriots of our country and reach the achievements to become confiding person. Look at the screen. Here sightseeing places of our country. Now watching them you should make 3 sentences about our country each group.

Reflection: (2 min) Good job, my dears. You have your leaves. Write down your wishes for our country and hang them up. Look, our golden tree has become very beautiful and we could show our excellent knowledge in all directions. Way to go!

Giving home task: ex2, p-30. Complete the text. Use the present simple and present continuous form of the verbs.
