Demonstrative lesson

The theme of the lesson: Unit 3, Step 1 “Food and Drink”

The aims of the lesson: Educational: -to teach pupils to use the countable and uncountable nouns correctly, to enrich student’s vocabulary stock with words connected with cooking, to develop communicative skills using the active vocabulary on the topic; to practice reading skills and checkup pupils’ understanding; to revise pupils’ vocabulary on the topic.

Developing: to develop the skills of speaking, reading writing on the theme, to develop pupils’ habits in making short conversations.

Bringing-up:-to bring up students’ accuracy, responsibility, order activity and interest in the subject.

Visual aids: interactive board, slides, basic textbooks, cards.

The type of the lesson: combining

The methods of the lesson: questions-answers, completing the sentences, role playing, working on pictures, singing a song.

I. Org. moment: 1) Greetings

2) Asking the date, day, attendance

II. Ch/up the h/t: EX: 6, p: 43. Interview your partner and complete the chart.

III. Speech drill: Using some slides and pictures, pupils must remember the names of food and drink.

T: coffee, tea, juice, milk, water, they are…

PS: Drinks

PS: tomato, potato, carrot, cucumber are vegetables.

PS: apple, banana, orange, they are fruits

PS: and other food: rice, butter, sugar, flour. (Ex:3, p: 48. Complete the chart)

IV. Presentation of the new material.

1. Grammar. Countable and uncountable nouns.

Memorize!

Countable nouns are used with the article. In addition, we can count them.

For example:

a table, an actor, a ball…….

There is a table – There are two tables

I see a ball – I see five balls

Uncountable nouns are not used with the article. We cannot count them.

For example: water, sugar, tea …….

two waters, ten teas, one sugar……

Revision of some and any.

T: We can use “some” when: I’ve got some pens. She has got some sugar.

We can use “any” when: We don’t need any eggs. Have you got any flour?

What do you need to make the Kazakh meat?

We need some meat. A dough, an onion, tomato, potatoes and water. Add some salt. An onion to sauce for beshbarmak. Bon appetit.

What do you need to make the American hamburgers?

We need some buns, sausage, carrot through a grater. Mayonnaise and ketchup. Bon appetit.
