To acquaint pupils with one of the most famous Scott expedition.

Brainstorming:

Elicits answers to the questions from the whole class and encourage pupils to give reasons for their guesses.

Pupils look at the photos. Answer the questions. Then they read the text to check their guesses.


Checking home task:

Checks the words.

Writes a short quiz.


Main part:

Explains the task and check the answers.

Students work individually reading the text again more carefully and marking the statements true or false.


Reads through the strategies with the class and discuss the suggestions. works through the first multiple-choice question with the class. Check the answers.

Complete the exercise working individually.


Works through the sentences with the whole class and check that pupils understand the grammar terms.

Points out that not all the nouns can be made into adjectives, verbs and adverbs.

Monitors and helps with the vocabulary.

Identify the words. Complete the table with the right words.

Pupils work in pairs taking turns to say sentences about two expeditions.


Reflection:

Gives the charts concerning the lesson.

Complete the charts.


Evaluation:

Evaluates pupils' work.

Get marks.


Home task:

Gives the task and explain how to do it.

In groups of five pupils will plan their own expedition.
