Teacher: Good morning, students! I’m glad to see you! Sit down, please. How are you today?

Teacher: I’d like to begin our lesson with a poem. First of all I’ll read it, look at the blackboard and follow me.
Friends share secrets (friends don’t tell). Friends share good times (and bad as well). Friends share things with one another. That’s because friends like each other. Of all the happy things there are friends are the very best by far.
Teacher: There is one new word in this poem, it is “to share”. It means that you have a lot of smth, for example a lot of sweets, you can give some sweets to your friend. So, what is in Russian for “to share”?
Students: Делить.
Teacher: You are right! Now let’s read and translate the poem.
2 – 3 students read and 1 student translates.
Teacher: Do you agree that friends are the very best thing of all happy things? Why? What do you share with your friends?
Students answer the questions.
Teacher: So, what will we discuss today?
Students: Friends, friendship.
Teacher: Certainly! We’ll discuss friends.

Teacher: What is a hobby? It is smth that we began doing rather long ago and we continue doing it now.
For example: I have been swimming since I was 10. What tense is used in this sentence?
Students: Present Perfect Continuous.
Teacher: Right! How do we form Present Perfect Continuous? And what are the words-markers?
Students: have/has + been + V ing. Words-markers are “for” and “since”
Teacher writes this information on the blackboard. Give, please, your examples. What have you been doing for a long time?
Students give their examples.
Teacher: But sometimes we can’t use Present Perfect Continuous. When? With what verbs?
Students: Be, have, see, know, like, etc.
Teacher: What tense do we use with these verbs?
Students: Present Perfect.
Teacher: Correct! And how do we form Present Perfect?
Students: have/has + V3
Teacher writes it on the blackboard. Give your examples.

T: Please, stand up. One person comes to the blackboard and shows any hobby using only his gestures. One by one. Other students guess the hobby.

Teacher: Now we know about your hobbies. Let’s read about hobbies of other children. SB ex. 5a, p. 62 In this exercise you should fill in the gaps in the conversations using words in the box.

Students fill in the gaps, read conversations in pairs and translate them.

Teacher: Now I would like you to make up a similar dialogue with your partner. You may use the hints, that are written on the blackboard.

Students make up their conversations and role-play them in front of the class.
