Learning Objectives:

Talking about what you usually do and what you’re doing now.

1. Students will be able to ask and answer questions.

2. Students will be able to put adjectives under correct adjectives.

3. Students will be able to complete the email

Activity 4  speaking

Activity 5 vocabulary

Activity 6 Listening

Activity 7 Check your English

Starter (5 min) Divide into groups and cast role.

Self assessment, then leader put marks into list of assessment. (Assessment for and of learning.)

Warm up (5-10 minutes) Write on the board: Today I’m wearing…, At the weekend I often…, I’m learning how to… at the moment, I never…. Students complete sentences about themselves.

Observations and questions from warm up

Assess each group complete the sentences.

Record any pupil who is very good at this activity

Main Activities (25-30 minutes) In groups students look at the questions and write answers about themselves. Then in pairs ask the questions and note the answers. Tell another student about your partner. Put these adjectives from the dialogue under the correct heading. Pay attention to Study tips. Listen to Gavin’s phone call from his Mum. Then answer the questions. Choose the correct word from the box to complete the email from Gavin.

Teacher Role and Strategies

First teacher check their pair work.

 In plenary- Assessment for and of learning.

Extension Activity

Write the following pairs on the board: do- at the moment, play- once a week, eat- often, read- every day, use- now, go- never  .Ask students to make sentences with these words in correct time.

Assessment for Learning

In main activity on very group  through observation , helping to make a klaster.

Look at methods used by Group 1 and 2 (check their recordings)

In plenary get them to self-assess

Plenary (5 – 10 minutes)

Ask for self-assessment – what did you find difficult, easy, what did you learn from this activity?
