1, 2: Dear Friends!

1: Welcome to our TV programme …

2: “Countries are worth visiting”.

1: Today we are going to have an interesting travelling about Russia (слайд 1)

2: The Russian Federation is the largest country in the world. It occupies about one of the earth’s surface. Russia covers the eastern part of Europe and the Northern part of Asia.

1: Let’s greeting our first professor of Tretyakov Gallery, Misses Karpova.

Professor: Hello, I’m Karpova. I’ve been working in Art Gallery for fifteen years. Let me introduce the national flag. (слайд 2). Russian national flag has three coloured banners: white, blue and red.

As to the national coat of arms (слайд 3) it is the two – headed eagle, the most ancient symbol of Russia.

The next important national symbol is national hymn. (слайд 4)

2: Oh, thank you Misses Karpova for your information. (профессор уходит)

1: It is interesting for me, do you know what is the capital of Russia?

2: Of course, everybody knows Moscow is the capital of Russia.

1: You are right, the capital is Moscow (слайд 5)

2: By the by, do you know that the population of Russia is 142 million people. More than 100 nationalities live in our country. (слайд 6)

1: Please, Natalia, tell us about culture of Russia.

Model: Russia culture is extremely various: literature, classical music, ballet, architecture, painting, cinema. (слайд 7)

Russian literature is known for such notable writers as Sergey Yesenin, Aleksandr Pushkin, Leo Tolstoy, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Mikhail Bulgakov and many others. (слайд 8)

Model: Thank you, I forgot I am late to the photo shoot.

1: By the way, do you know which is the largest country in the world?

2: I suppose the USA.

1: You are wrong, Russia is.

2: What do you know about the sights of Russia?

1: Nothing, I’ve never been in Russia.

2: May be our next guest tell us about places which are worth visiting.

1: As far as I know tourist is present today.

Tourist: Oh, yes, yes. I am here! What can you say about Lake Baikal? (слайд 9). It is the world’s deepest lake.

The Altai Mountains, the Caucasus Mountains, the Urals, listen, listen, mountains! (слайд 10). It is magnificent wonder of nature. Mountains here, mountains there, mountains, mountains everywhere!!!

Rivers (слайд 11). It is the most splendid sight as I see wherever.

2: Thank you a lot, your stories are wonderful. Of course, if we have free time, we shall go there (турист уходит)

1: Look here, do you like to go in for sport?

2: Of course, I do. I like sambo, fist fight (кулачный бой)

1: By the by, what is the Motherland of sambo?

2: Of course, Russia. It is one of the national kinds of sport.

1: More than that, Russia is rich in mineral recourses. It promoted business development.

Businesslady: Good day, ladies and gentlemen. As you see, Russia is rich in mineral recourses, (слайд 12) such as oil, iron, natural gas, gold, nickel. It is also rich in forest (слайд 13) and fur – bearing animals (слайд 14). All these factors led Russia to the position of a highly – developed country.
