Now London is the British capital andone of the largest cities in the world.
It is a political, economic and commercial centre.One of the three main financial centres in the world.It’s population is about 8 million people

London is situated in the south-eastern part of England along the both banks of the River Thames.
It consist of three parts: the City of London, the West End and the East End

is the richest and the most beautiful part of London
The Buckingham Palace
Buckingham Palace is the official London residence and workplace of the Queen. It was built in 1703.
The ceremony of the Changing of the Guard that takes place here.
It is not only the royal residence: it's a small city under one roof. It has a cinema, a post-office, some caffees and a restaurant, a hospital and even a night club. More than 700 people work here every day.

tower itself, but to the thirteen ton bell hung within.
It’s one of the highest towers of Westminster Palace.
The tower of Big Ben used to be a prison where
over riotous parliamentarians were kept.
The East End
It is an industrial district of London.
There are many plants
and factories there.
Tower of London
The Tower of London is ahistoric castleon the
north bank of the River Thames. It wasaprison,
afortressand evena zoo.
Today it is a populartourist attraction.
The legend says that London will be great and successful till ravens live in the Tower.
Tower Bridge
Tower bridge has stood over the river Thames.
It is the most famous bridge in London.
It is close to the Tower of London, which gives its name.
The bridge consists of 2 towers which are tied together.
The City of London
It is the financial centre of the UK with many banks, offices.
Trafalgar Squareis situated here.
Nelson's Column,

rises in the centre of
Trafalgar Square .
St. Paul's cathedral
It is the largest Protestant Church in England.
It contains the unique Whispering Gallery where you can hear the whisper of the person, standing at the other end of the gallery.
There are a lot of museums in London.
There are over 240 museums in London. Among

The British Museum,
Madame Tussaud’s museum,
MOMI (The musiem of moving images)
and many others.
The British Museum is the largest and richest of its kind in the world.The present building was built in 1852.
It’s collection is so vast that only a very small percentage of it is on show to the public.

and newspaper, published in Britain
must be presented in the British museum
The London Underground is a passenger transport
system in the UK. It is the oldest underground
railway in the world.
It is also called the Tube.
