Цель:  коммуникативно-речевое развитие 
обучающихся через обобщение знаний 
празднования Рождества в Великобритании. 
Задачи:   
1.Обобщить лексико-грамматический материал 
 по теме «Рождество». 
2.Воспитывать уважение к культуре и традициям 
 других народов. 
3.Воспитывать интерес к изучению английского 
 языка. 
4.Систематизировать знания о Великобритании. 
5.Способствовать развитию творческой 
 деятельности обучающихся. 
     
Christmas is a great holiday in Great Britain. It is 
celebrated on the 25 th of December. Everyone prepare 
for Christmas weeks before. They buy gifts  for their 
families and friends. They decorate  the Christmas tree 
with ornaments  and lights  . 
     
Christmas is a religious holiday because it is a 
day that Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus 
Christ. 
     
The people go to the church on this day 
Silent night, 
Holy night, 
Son of God, 
Love’s pure night. 
Radiant beams 
From thy holy face 
With the dawn of 
Redeeming face. 
Jesus, Lord at 
Thy birth 
     
Merry, merry Christmas 
Is likely to come 
Merry, merry Christmas 
You are welcome! 
Snow in the window 
Much confetti, 
Bright blue, red and yellow 
Lights on the tree. 
This is a Christmas tree 
     
The people often write Christmas   cards  and 
 send them to each other.

The day before Christmas is Christmas   Eve  . Families 
usually have a big dinner. They prepare special food 
and cookies.

Santa Clause 
Is very old. 
Santa Claus’s 
Land is cold. 
In his sleigh with 
Many reindeers 
He brings presents 
Every year. 
     
Children often write letters with their 
wishes to Santa Clause, who 
comes to visit, when they sleep and 
brings presents. He is a kind old man 
In a red clothes with a big sack of toys.

Christmas stockings 
     
The children hang their stockings near the fireplace 
chimney because they believe he climbs down the 
the chimney and puts the presents in the stockings. 
     
During the holiday carolers go from house to house 
In the evening. They ring hand bells and sing carols, 
Christmas songs. 
Christmas night 
     
The day after Christmas is 
Boxing Day. The name “boxing” 
comes from the time when people 
put money for the poor in the 
church boxes. 
Now people use this day 
to give some money to 
people who helped them 
during the year.
