This unit recycles and revisits a lot of vocabulary seen in previous units, e.g. words for colours and simple objects and animals. Learners further practice giving short answers in response to direct questions.

Warming up

  • Teacher revises the days of the week and asks sts “What is your name? What is your surname? What day will be tomorrow?”

  • Teacher nominates sts to answer “How are you?” question. Each student describes his/her mood saying “I am...”

  • Sing a song “Hello”

  • Teacher divides three groups

1 group is pink

2 group is green

3 group is red

  • Teacher asks song about “Birthday”

  • Teacher demonstrates poster with letter and asks sts to repeat the words

  • Teacher gives papers for to make cake

  • Teacher plays a music about “Happy Birthday”

  • Teacher plays the video for the second time with pauses in order to ask “What’s this?”; sts should answer “This is a cake. This is a friend. Etc. ”

Ask sts to look at the ladder of success and identify their position at the end of the lesson (with great teacher support)
