“Let’s speak about Kazakhstan”
“Don’t be your father’s son, but be your people’s one”.

Цель урока:
Формирование у учащихся основ гражданственности и патриотизма.
Задачи урока:
- закрепление ранее полученных знаний по английскому языку;
- воспитание сопричастности к жизни страны;
- расширение кругозора учащихся.
Оформление:
Символы РК, интерактивная доска, карточки с заданиями, открытки с природой Казахстана, видеоролик о традициях и обычаях в Казахстане.
Ход урока:
Anthem of the Republic Kazakhstan.
The slide “Let’s speak about Kazakhstan”.
Congratulations of teachers with a Day of languages.

“Good morning, dear friends, correspondents, representatives of History, Geography, Literature, and Music areas. Today we are at the conference “Let’s speak about Kazakhstan”. Now here are the poems about our country.” (The poems about Kazakhstan on Kazakh, English and Russian).
Dear guests, I want to get acquaint you with the representatives of different areas of Kazakhstan and correspondents of some English newspapers and TV programs.
Zvereva Veronica - the representative of History area;
Iskakova Nursaya, Tashetova Zhanar – the representatives of Geography area;
Polonik Genady – the representative of Music area.
Our correspondents are:
Askar Myktybaev, “The Washington Post”;
Irina Nikiforova, “The USA today”;
Elizaveta Gotfrit, “The Times”,
Olga Fedulova, “New York magazine”.
Now, dear correspondents, please, your questions to our representatives.
Elizaveta Gotfrit, the correspondent of “The Times” to Veronica Zvereva, the representative of History area: “This information is about England: the capital of GB is London. The flag is blue, white and red. The head of my country is Elizabeth II. The symbol is the gold eagle. Now, give me, please, some information about your country.”
Veronica Zvereva, the representative of History area: “The capital of Kazakhstan is Astana. The flag is blue and yellow. The symbol is a snow leopard. The head of our country is the president – N.A. Nazarbayev.”
There are some slides with dates and numbers (16 mln, 2,7 mln, 85 000, 22 of March, 16 of December).
Askar Myktybayev, the correspondent of “The Washington Post”: “There are some numerals. What are they about?”
Iskakova Nursaya, Tashetova Zhanar , the representatives of Geography area: “The population of Kazakhstan is 16 mln people. The area of Kazakhstan is 2,7 mln square km. There are 85 000 rivers in the RK. We celebrate Nauryz on the 22 of march. The Independence Day of the RK is on the 16 of December.”
Irina Nikiforova, the correspondent of “The USA today”: “What are the biggest rivers in the RK? What are the highest mountains in Kazakhstan? Tell us about the flora of the country.”
Iskakova Nursaya, Tashetova Zhanar , the representatives of Geography area: “The biggest rivers in the RK are Irtysh, Syrdariya, Ili, Ishim and Tobol The highest mountains in Kazakhstan are Khan Tengri, Tian- Shan. There are 150 types of flora in the country.”
Sounds the kyui “Sary Arka” of Kurmangazy.
Olga Fedulova, the correspondent of “New York magazine”: “What musical instruments are there in your country? Who wrote the famous poem “Leningraders, children of mine”? Who was Al-Farabi?”
Polonik Genady, the representative of Music area: “ Kazakh national musical instruments are dombyra and kobyz. A new musical instrument – kobyz – was created by grandfather Korkyt. The famous poem “Leningraders, children of mine” was written by Zhambyl Zhabaev. And Al-Farabi was called “the second teacher ” after Aristotel”

Representatives from Kazakhstan give presents to correspondents, drink tea, dance “Zhorga”.
