The theme: “Which one do you like?”. “ Clothes”.

Objectives:

  1. To learn new words

  2. To develop reading

  3. To develop speaking

  4. To enrich pupils’ outlook


The procedure of the lesson


Ι. Organization moment:

T: Good afternoon, dear pupils!

P: Good afternoon, teacher!

T: Thank you, sit down!

T: How are you today?

P: We are fine, thanks!

T: What season is it now?

P: Today is winter.

T: What types of the weather can we have in winter?

P: In winter _________________________ weather.

T: What clothes we wear in winter?

P: We wear __________________________ in winter.

T: Who is on duty today?

P: I’m on duty today.

T: What is the date today?

P: Today is _______________________

T: What is the day today?

P: Today is _______________________

T: Who is absent today?

P: _______________________________

T: What was your home task for today?

P: Our home task was to learn the types of clothes and divide it on: man style and woman style.


ΙΙ. Warm up:

The teacher shows the tongue- twister to the pupils: She sells shirts, skirts and T- shirts at the shop.

T: Let’s train!

P: Pupils repeat the tongue-twister after the teacher.

T: Well, as you understood, we’ll continue to speak about clothes.

T: Ok, before our work, let’s watch the video .

The first time you’ll listen to the announcer, the second time you’ll repeat each word after him.

P: Pupils watch the video.


ΙΙΙ. Checking the h/t:

T: Well, let’s check your home task.

P: Pupils answer their home work.

T: Well done, thank you for your answers!


ΙV. New words:

T: For continuing to speak about clothes we need some words ( teacher shows the presentation). Let’s pronounce these words together!

P: Pupils repeat the new words after the teacher.

T: Open your dictionaries and write down these words.

P: Pupils rewrite the words.

T: Well done! Let’s continue our work!


V. Speaking:

T: Boys and girls, today at the lesson we have got 2 guests: the boy-Jack and the girl-Polly. They are going to the Woman’s Day concert and they want you to help them to choose clothes, which are the most appropriate.

Now I’ll give you files with clothes. You’ll dress them and then I will ask you some questions which are connected with our new words.

P: Pupils are dress the paper dolls of the boy and girl.

T: What type of clothes did you choose?

What pattern has this dress got?

P: Pupils answer to the teacher’s questions.

T: Well done! The following task for you: Now look carefully on each other, after my command you should name in what your classmate is dressed in.

P: Pupils realize teacher’s commands.


VΙ. Creative task:

T: Now you should make your own dialogue “ Buying clothes” . You can see some tips on the blackboard, it can help you to choose the dress.

I’ll give give you 5 minutes to prepare the dialogue. You should in details describe that dress which you’ll choose.

P: Pupils prepare for the dialogue.


VΙΙ. Giving the h/t:

T: Open your diaries and write down the home task. You should write an essay about your favourite clothes and style.

T: Stand up. The lesson is over! Good bye!

P: Good bye, teacher!
