The theme of the lesson:                 Where are you going to spend your holiday?

The aim of the lesson:.                Using the active vocabulary and grammar improve the

                                                      students listening, speaking, reading and writing habits and

                                                     skills. To teach them to spend their spare time on useful

                                                     purpose

Method:         Interviewing

Visual aids:       thematic pictures, grammar tables, card, interactive board and CDs

Integrated with:           geography

The procedure of the lesson:

I.Organization moment

       А) Greeting

      Б) Marking absenties

II. Checking up the home task. Ex. 7p149   “My Plan”

 I want to visit _______________.

I have never been ____________.

I have once been _____________.

III. Warm up     A poem by   Robert Louis Stevenson “Travel ”  

                 I should like to rise  and go

Where the golden apple grow

Where below another sky

Parrot islands anchored lie,

And, watched by cockatoos and goats,

Lonely Crusoes building boats;

Anchore - ставить на якорь

Cockatoo -какаду

You’ll listen to the other couplets at the end of the lesson

IV. As you have guessed from these lines the theme  of our lesson is “Where are you going to spend your holiday?”      

a)      Look at your  textbooks  and do Exercise 1 Match the countries and the flags

Go to the beach, go to museum,go for a walk, go shopping,  stay in a hotel, go swimming,        go to  restaurants, go skiing

  1. Make up sentences

In a big city you can go to museums.

VI. Writing. Write the names of three popular places in your  country:

a)A big city

  1.  a place in the country/ in the mountain
  2.  a town near the sea/ a lake/ a river

VII. Speaking. a) Looking at the pictures say how people can travel then  answer the questions.

  1. Which is the quickest way of travelling?
  2. Which is the most comfortable?
  3. Which is the cheapest and the most expensive?
  4. Which one is the most interesting?
  • ?b) Exercise 2a read the conversation. Pay attention to the questions and answers.

Asan: Have you been to Ireland?

Jack:  No, I haven't.

Asan: Have you ever been to Scotland?

Jack:  Yes, I have.

Asan: When did you go?

Jack:  Two years ago.

Let’s make up the rule to Present Perfect Tense in interrogative sentences.

VIII. Grammar  The Present Perfect Tense.(questions)

a)      Write Past Simple and past Participle  forms of the verbs.

I interviewed my teacher. She has once visited Uzbekistan. She has visited some  historical places of  Bukhara….and seen many places of interest in these towns. She stayed in a hotel. She has been in a theatre. She hasn’t met any famous person.

XI. Home task. Exercise 7p151. Write. My friend’s plan.
