Урокдля 7 классапотеме “What do we need to be fit?”
Тема урока: Здоровый образ жизни.
Задачи урока: - активизировать и закрепить лексический материал по теме, повышать коммуникативную и социокультурную компетенции учащихся, научить вести дискуссию и работать в группе;
-тренировать во всех видах речевой деятельности, развивать умение логически последовательно излагать свои мысли на английском языке, развивать память, внимание, речевую догадку;
-стимулировать самооценку учащихся, воспитывать сознательную необходимость вести здоровый образ жизни, воспитывать чувство заботы и взаимопомощи .
Тип урока: комбинированный
Оборудование: раздаточный материал( текст для чтения “My dad’s checkup”), предметы личной гигиены(расческа, мыло, шампунь и т.п.)
ХОД УРОКА.
INTRODUCTION (2 min)
-Good morning, children!
-Good morning, teacher!
-Is anybody absent today?
-All are present.
-Great! Take your seats, please!
Today’s our topic is “A healthy way of life”. You are young and the future belongs to you. So you must be healthy both physically and mentally. The epigraph of our lesson is “The first wealth is health”, as R.Emerson said. But what does it mean to be fit? What do you need for it? Doctors explain that several things are important:
-what food you eat;
-how you take care of your body and your clothes;
-what daily habits you have;
-how often you exercise.
2. DISCUSSION )(5 min)
Pupils ask questions to each other one by one. Possible questions are:
Do you think you are fit?
How often do you eat fruit and vegetables?
Do you smoke?
How often do you drink milk?
How much do you watch TV?
Do you go to bed late?
Do you go in for sports? Etc.
3.BRAIN-STORMING (5 min)
So let’s make a list of advice on keeping fit. (the teacher writes down possible pupils’ advice on the blackboard):
Get up early and go to bed early.
Eat healthy food.
Never smoke, never use drugs.
Take regular exercise.
Keep your clothes clean and change it regularly.
Keep your body clean and healthy.
Smile and the whole world will smile with you. Etc.
4. READING (5 min)
Read the text and try to work out the meaning of the underlined phrases:
Once a year my dad goes for a checkup. He went last week and got a bit of a shock. The doctor told dad he wasn’t looking after himself properly. Apparently dad has put on weight in the past 12 months and he needs to have a more balanced diet with more fruit and vegetables, less meat and bread and fewer potatoes. He also has to give up smoking completely. The doctor said that he should keep inshape by taking up some kind of sport. So dad is to change his life style completely.
5. RELAXATION FOR EYES (1min)
Look left, look right,
Look up, look down,
Look around.
Look at your nose,
Look at that rose.
Close your eyes,
Open, wink and smile.
Your eyes are happy again.
6. LEARNING NEW VOCABULARY (3 min)
Look at the definitions of the phrases:
-checkup – a general examination by a doctor
-look after – take care of
-put on weight – gained weight or got fatter
-balanced diet – a healthy way of eating
-give up – stop(smoking,…)
-keep in shape – stay fit and healthy
-taking up – starting or getting involved in any sport activity
-life style – way of living.
7. WRITING (10 min)
Use the new vocabulary from the text to complete these sentences:
Just eating hamburgers and chips is not good for you. You need a …
She looks far too thin. She needs…
My aunt…by going swimming 3 times a week.
I haven’t been to the dentist for about 2 years. I think it’s time for me to have a…

8. A MINUTE FOR SPORTS. (2 min)
Hands on your hips, hands on your knees,
Put them behind you, if you please.
Touch your shoulders, touch your nose,
Touch your ears, touch your toes.
My hands upon my head I place,
On my shoulders, on my face.
Then I raise them up on high
And make my fingers quickly fly.
Then I put them in front of me
And gently clap: one, two, three!
9. GROUP WORK (10 min)
Commercials.
Match products with the problem:
Dirty hair
Soap
Dirty skin
Razor, shaving cream
Bad breath
Laundry detergent
Heavy beard
Shampoo
Dirty clothes
Toothpaste
In your groups prepare a 20-second commercial about one of the following products:
Nockumded Shampoo
Mr.Macho Shaving Cream
Barra Soap
Tuba Toothpaste
Sharpo Razor
Subso Laundry Detergent
It is best if you make up your own words, but if that is too difficult, here are some ideas to help you. Your commercial could sound like that:
Are you having a problem with___? Try our new improved___and then you will have no problem. With our new improved___you will be able to___and everyone in your family will be happy. Remember now, try___. Do it today!
10. SUMMING UP (1 min)
Summing up our lesson we can say that our health is the best treasure we have in our life. So, we must remember about it and take care of it. It’s very easy to loose your health, but it’s very difficult to find it again!
11. HOME TASK (1 min)
You must write down all possible ways to be healthy. For the mark of high level – to make up a test “Are you healthy?”for your classmates. See you later. Bye, children!
