Цели урока:

Организационный момент.
Учитель: Good morning, my dear students! Nice to see you all! Today we are going to summarize the information about radio and get some information about TV. But before we start doing this let’s read the motto of our lesson which is on the blackboard.
Ученик: The motto of our lesson is “He Who Owns the Information Owns the World”
Учитель: How do you understand it?
Ученик 1. – To my mind this expression is quite real as if you know what is going on around you you’ll posses the whole information and can make your choice how to behave in any situation.
Ученик 2--I agree with … and I also think that we can’t live without full information about the world around us.
Ученик 3- As for me I listen to the weather forecast every day in order to dress properly and it’s also one of the type of useful information.
Учитель: Great! Raise your hands those who listens to the weather forecast

Учитель: What was the weather forecast for today?
Ученик 1: I heard it n the radio that it will be cool and windy today. And it’s really so.
Ученик 2- And I saw it on TV that the temperature will be 2 degrees Centigrade and it’s also true.
Учитель: Very good of you, my dear. Have you noticed that in your words about the weather you have mentioned 2 types of media? What are they?
Ученик: They are radio and TV.

Учитель: Of coarse you are right. Let’s revise how to pronounce the words on this topic properly. To do it open your books on page 64 ex. 10. Listen to the tape and pronounce the words after the speaker.

Ученик: Our homework was to learn the dialogue on page 66 ex. 15 by heart changing some words in it.

Ученик1 : As for me I like radio best of all. I never miss my favourite radio program about animals.
Ученик2 : More than that I can hear a lot of good music and interesting information on the radio while doing my work about the house
Ученик 3: While listening to the radio or watching television people learn a lot about the life style in other countries.
Ученик 4: Frankly speaking it’s very convenient to listen to the radio while traveling somewhere.

8 Развитие навыков письменной речи с заданием на подстановку
Учитель: I hope your eyes have had a good rest and you are ready to continue our today’s work. Do you like to dream? Are you the dreamers? If it’s so let’s do the next task. You should read the passage about the future of television and complete the text with the words from the box. I give you 3 minutes to do this task. When you are through raise your hands and give me your papers, please.
THE FUTURE OF TELEVISION
In future, we probably won’t watch television at all.
I think television (1)….will disappear. We’ll use a computer and choose the programs that we want to watch. (2)… will then get the program from another computer, probably on the other side of the world. We‘ll be able to tell the computer what type of (3) ….we like (for example, types of films, (4)…., documentaries, etc.) and the computer will search for those programs and then give us a (5)… to choose from. The pictures that we see will also be different. They will be (6)….. This means that they will have three (7)…. – they will have height, (8)…. We will be able to look around the pictures that we see.
The computer, dimensions, channels, ‘holographic’, programs, music, ‘menu’, width and depth.

Учитель: There is one more task for you. It’s to listen to the information about the broadcasting companies in different countries. It’s on page 63 ex 6. You should do this task orally.

Nowadays broadcasting companies have become symbols of their countries.
Over 99 per cent of British homes have a TV and the average British watches the “box” 26 hours a week. BBC (or the British Broadcasting Corporation) is a state company. Its two channels BBc1 and BBC2 do not show adverts. BBc1 broadcasts popular programs (the news, sports programs, shows, children’s programs and soaps). BBC2 shows TV plays, classical concerts, foreign films.
Americans also love watching TV. American CNN (or Cable Nets Network) broadcasts only news but is popular all over the world.
CBC (or Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) can be seen or heard almost anywhere in the country. The company broadcasts in English and in French. It broadcasts the news, shows, films and other popular programs.
At the moment there are two state channels on Russian TV: ORT and RTR. They broadcast different programs (the news and shows, soap and children’s programs, recent and foreign films, sports programs). They can be seen anywhere in the country. There are several other channels on Russian TV. One of them is KULTURA. It shows special programs: cultural news, Russian and foreign classical films, the best performances, classical concerts, talk shows on culture and education. This channel is getting more and more popular.

Now let’s summarize our lesson. You can see 2 pictures on the blackboard. One is the radio another is the TV. Imagine that they are good friends and write down only their positive features.
