Teacher: Good afternoon dear boys and girls. I am glad to see you. Are you ready for the lesson?

  1. Dividing into groups:

Learners are divided into two groups

Warm up:

To sing a song “At school”

  1. Checking up the homework:

The teacher checks the active vocabulary by showing the pictures. Learners have to put the right word near each picture.

  1. Guess the topic:

T: Look at the board. What can you see? Yes you are right. The theme of our lesson is “Check the timetable”

The teacher explains learning objectives in a simplified form.

Ex: We sing a song at our Music lesson.

  1. Working with the dialogue:

T: Well, boys and girls you are really busy at your lessons. But not only you, Russian and English pupils also have interesting lessons. Look at the screen. These are Bobby, Masha and Ademy. Let’s read their dialogues. (Pupils read the dialogues in pairs) What do they talk about? What are their favourite subjects?

  1. Speaking about the subjects pupils like and don’t like:

T: So, pupils, I see that you like most of your subjects but they are very different. Now I’d like to know your opinion about them. I’ll give you two faces – a happy face and an unhappy face. You should decide what subject you like and what subject you don’t like. Then go to the blackboard, pin faces and explain your choice.

Use an example: I like _____ because (it’s interesting, easy, I like to speak Russian, jump, run, sing, count, draw).

I don’t like ______ because (it’s difficult, I don’t like to read, jump, run, speak Russian, sing, count, draw).

  1. Speaking about timetable:

So we have talked about subjects you like and don’t like. Now I suggest talking about your timetable. Remember your timetable and answer the questions. Then fill in the timetable.

T: So our lesson is coming to an end. We have discussed your school subjects and you have done all exercises very well. Thank you for your work. Now reflect on your learning by tree of success.

The learners evaluate their own work by the colours of the traffic light.

Red- I understood nothing.

Yellow- I understood but it was difficult for me to do the tasks. Green- I understood the lesson and did all the tasks.

Homework: to learn the names of the subjects.
