Plan for this lesson is to check up your homework (ex.1, p. 96-97), revise the irregular verbs and finally we will talk about the history of cartoons, we’ll do some interesting exercises on this topic. They will help us to fix our knowledge from previous lessons using the main clichés.
2. Revision of the irregular verbs.

T: Good. Let’s check them! We will do it to the following way. On this board you see the first and the second forms of irregular verbs. Your task is to match them and give their translations. Let’s do it.

4. New topic.
T: Today we are going to speak about the history of cartoons. Everyone of you have ever seen the cartoons. Right? Will you name your favourite cartoons?
P1: Peter Pan.
P2: Cinderella.
P3: Snow White and Seven Dwarfs.
P4: Frozen, Shrek, Mickey Mouse.
T: Good, I see you know many cartoons. But we will talk about the first cartoons that were made. You will know something new for you from the history and in the end of our lesson you will make a conclusion about it. So let us start. First of all we need to read the names from ex. 1a, p. 98 before we start reading the story.
(Teacher reads the names and pupils repeat after her. Then the pupils read a word one by one).
T: Well done! Now we will read the story from ex.1b, but above our story you can see five sentences. Your task is to read the story and then answer the sentences are true or false.

6. Speaking
And now it’s time to speak about cartoons. I’ve prepared for you cards with questions. They are in our magic box. You should take a card, read a question and answer.
1) Who drew the first cartoon in 1906? – Stuart Blackton.
2) What the Studio did become one of the most popular in the world? – Disney Studio.
3) How many Disney cartoons do you know? – Pupil’s answer.
4) What is your favourite cartoon(s)? – Pupil’s answer.
5) When did children all over the world see the first computer cartoon? – In 1995. They were Toy, Toy Story 2, 3, Shrek.
T: Great! Next task! I have got eight envelopes. There are some pictures with the cartoon characters. Your task is to choose one of this envelope and make a riddle. Your pictures don’t show anybody. For this task you have 2 minutes. Be ready to speak!
(Pupils make riddles and then read them near the board, others guess).
