The theme of the lesson: “Going to Britain”. (8 th form).

The aims of lesson:  1) to learn talking about visiting countries, speaking about                                    languages, talking about the sights of Great Britain

                                 2) to develop students habits in speaking, retelling, listening, translating and to check their understanding.

                                 3) to enrich the feeling of love towards our Motherland to bring up the infatuation to knowledge, to wide the students knowledge about great Britain.

         The procedure of the lesson.

  1. Organization moment

         Good morning boys and girls. I am glad to see you. Today we  are having an open lesson. The Theme of  our  lesson  is “ Going to Britain”.

          Before we start our traveling. Let’s repeat the  words with the sounds [s] and [ts], paying attention to the pronunciation.

  1. I shall read the words, you must show your cards with sounds [s], [ts]. “Sh” is red, “ch” is blue.

 Slaid  №2. couch, shop, each, should, teach, British, chip, show, change, sure.

 Warm – up Phonetic drill.

  1. Warm – up.

V. Checking up home work.

Now, let’s check up your home task. Your home work was: “find our information about tights of Great Britain”.

Every pupil tells up about sights of Great Britain.

1.Tower Bridge 4. Trafalgar Square

2. Buckingham Palace 5. Westminster Abbey

3. Big Ben 6. St. Pauls ’Catherdral

During the speaking slaids are showing on the board.

  1. Tower Bridge. Was opened in 1894. It takes its name from the Tower of London. The hydraulic mechanism can raise and lower the bridge in about one and a half minutes.

  2. Buckingham Palace. Is the official residence of the Queen and her family. There are 600 rooms in the Palace.

  3. Big Ben . It is a famous clock in the world . It is in London. The author of Big Ben is Benjamin Hall. Big Ben weights 13,5 tons.

  4. Trafalgar Square. Is in the centre of the west End of L London. It is a place where meetings and demonstrations take place.

  5. Westminster Abbey. It’s a very beautiful church. English kings and queens are usually married have, as well as many writers.

  6. St. Paul’s Cathedral. It ‘ s a city’s greatest monument. It was built by sir Christopher wren 1675 and 1710 to replace the old Cathedral that was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666.

VI. Presentation of the new lesson. Look at the map. There you can see Great Britain. It consists of 4 parts: Scotland in the north, England in she south, Wales is on the south too, Northern Ireland is on the east. All the parts have their capital. The capital of England is London, the capital of Wales is Cardiff, the capital of Scotland is Edinburgh, the capital of Northern Ireland is Belfast7 The flag of Great Britain is Union Jack. It is a union 4 parts.

  1. Wales, Scotland and England are parts of Great Britain
