Lesson: Unit VI. Step five.

The Theme of the lesson: “Television & children”

The Aims of the lesson: 1.Educational: to give more information about advantages and disadvantages of television and its importance for children.

2.Bringing-up:to increase interest in TV;to develop and enrich cultural knowledge about television.

3.Developing:To develop critical thinking,logical speech,to develop reading speed.

The visual aids: An interactive board, slides about TV,cards.

The procedure of the lesson

I. Organization moment

-Good morning pupils!

-I’m glad to see you!

-How are you?

-Who is on duty today?

-Who is absent?

-What date is it today?

-What day is it today?

-Ok, let’s start our lesson for today.

II. Warming up. (Riddles)

This is a house

With one window in it

Showing films

Everyday, every minute

(television)

Light and humorous drama with a happy ending

(comedy)

Which stars wear dark glasses?

(film stars)

III. Checking up the home task.

T: Let’s check up your home task. At our previous lesson we’ve talked about television . Now let’s revise them. Look at the interactiveboard. Now express your opinion. Are you agree or disagree ?

1.Television makes people argue and discuss things,think and talk more.

2.Television is terribly bad for people’s eyes.

3.Children’s and students’ educational programmes are very usefull.

4.Television has both advantages and disadvantages.

5.We can’t do without Tv nowadays.

6 Too much television is bad for children – it’s unhealthy.

IV. New Theme.

T: Let’s begin new lesson. Our new theme for today is Television and children.

At the end of the lesson you’ll be able to speak about advantages and disadvantages of television and its importance for children.

Now look at the interactiveboard. What words can you associate with this word?

V. Doing tasks.

1.Working with the text.(Jigsaw reading.)

Fill in the table “KLW” (I knew this information,I’ve learnd it before,I want to know).

3.Group work.

T: Now,pupils let’s talk about advantages and disadvantages of television. So, I’ll divide you into two groups .The first group is against spending a lot of time for TV. The second group is for the watching TV a lot.

The sources of internet supply us with a lot of information

There are a lot of violence on TV children should watch TV
