Практическая: развитие умений монологической и диалогической речи, развитие умения поискового чтения;

Образовательная: совершенствование грамматических навыков;

Развивающая: развитие языковой догадки.

Ход урока:

1. Организационный момент.

-Good afternoon! I am glad to see you! How are you?

-Who is away from the class?

II. Постановка цели.

-Today we are going to remember when articles are used with parts of day and day and seasons; we’ll read the text about cinema and theatre and in the end we’ll learn how to make offers, accept and refuse them.

III. Речевая зарядка.

• Open your books Unit 7 ex.31. Say when you like to do these things.

• Diana, read the example, please.

• Now let’s do ex.32. Look at the pictures and say what seasons they show and what people usually do in these seasons.

• What are they doing now?

IV. Основная часть. Развитие умений поискового чтения.

-Now you’ll get some cards put in the articles where necessary.

-Now as I’ve promised we are going to read the text “Cinema and Theatre: How It all Began”

-Open your books ex.11.

-How do you think what you’ll learn from this text?

-What countries are famous for theatre and cinema? (Great Britain, France, Greece, Russia are famous for a high standard of theatre. The USA, France, Italy, Japan and Russia are famous for their cinema)

-What places all over the world are connected with cinema and theatre? (Hollywood in the USA is connected with cinema; Stratford-upon-Avon with theatre)

-Now let’s begin reading the text. Try to understand and remember as much as possible. Please, Anton, start reading.

Now let’s see how well you’ve understood the text. What new facts have you learned from the text?

-In what country was theatre born? (In ancient Greece)

- Why do we remember Thespis? (He was the first actor known)

-When was cinema born? (At the end of the 19^th century)

-What country produced the first dramatic film? (France)

-Why is the film “Jazz Singer” important in the history of cinema?(It was the first film in which actor spoke and sang)

-How many names of films, actors and actresses mentioned in the text do you remember?
-In what two parts can the text be divided logically? (The first part is about the history of cinema and the second part is about the history of theatre)

-Thank you for your work. Some more task for you. Ex.13. Find in the text the following words and word combinations, read the sentences with them and translate them into Russian.

-Find in the text the names of these films.

-Find in the first three paragraphs of the text at least 10 international words.

-Guess what the international words from paragraphs 4 and 5 are.

V. Развитие умений диалогической речи.

-Now you’ll learn how to make offers and reply to them. Open your books ex.33. Section: Social English.

-Repeat after me.

-Tell me what phrases you can use to make offers.

-Now I’ll give you 2 minutes to complete the following dialogues. (The first dialogue is for…; the second dialogue is for….)

-Are you ready? The time is up. Let’s listen to your dialogues.

-Well done. Now work in pairs. Invite your partner to some place and decide if you would like to do smth together. Do it in a proper manner. I’ll give you two minutes to think, use these dialogues as models.
