Aim of the lesson; students should be able to use in their speech lexical and grammar materials on the theme ‘’Meals.’’
Objectives of the lesson:
1. Make up a dialogue (4-6sentences) using the lexical materials on the theme
‘’Meals and Meal times’’
2. Students will be able to make up 3-5 sentences using in their speech Conditional 1, 2.
3. Bringing up students to respect and love our Motherland and respect culture of English
speaking countries.
The procedure of the lesson
I.Org. moment.
- What day of the week is it today?
- Do you like Monday? Why?
- How many lessons do you have today?
- What is your favourite day of the week? Why?
II.Warm up (Proverbs)
In order to be hardworking and responsible you should always remember the following proverbs :
- Never do things by halves.
- Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.
- Fist think then speak.
- Be slow to promise and quick to perform.
III. Check hometask: Ex. 1, p. 42 “Nauriz”
- Pupils ask questions on the text and answer them:
P1—P2, P3—P4, P5—P6.
b)Additional qyestiuons:
- Is Nauryz an official holiday only in the Republic of Kazakhstan?
(Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turrkmenia, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan)
-Kazakhs often refer to Nauryz as ‘’ Ulystyn uly kuni’’.
What does it mean? ( It means ‘’The great day of the nation’’)
-What does the present day name of Nauryz derive from?
(It comes from the Persian Novruz translated as a New Day).

V. Setting the aim of the lesson.
We are speaking about meals and meal times in the U.K.
And consolidate grammar Conditionals I, II.
Teacher; Traditionally, the main meals are called
- Breakfast
- Lunch
- Dinner
- High tea
- Supper
(There are pictures on the board and on students’ desks with description of meals of a typical English breakfast, lunch, dinner, and supper).
Vocabulary;
-At first pupils name all the words connected with the theme;
Sausages, sandwich, crisps, slice, juice, corn, eggs, bacon, etc.
-Then pupils choose the words which are unknown and important for them;
bacon beans, fried eggs, boiled, cereal, gravy, fruit crumble, etc.
VI. Then pupils read the texts and speak about new information they have known from them.
-Teacher: And what about the national meals in Kazakhstan?
-Are there great differences?
(pupils name such Kazakh dishes as ‘’Karta”, ‘’Baursak’’, ‘’Beshbarmak,’’ etc. and
compare with those of English)
Students make up 3-4 sentences orally using the lexics on the theme.
VII. Presentation of Grammar using the students’ prior knowledge: Conditionals I, II.
Let’s remember Conditional I, playing ‘’if’’ game.
Teacher: What will you do if you win much money on lottery?
P1: If I win much money, I will buy a computer.
P2: If I buy a buy a computer, I will have a chance to use the Internet.
P3: If I use the Internet, I will get interesting information necessary for my lessons, etc.
Teacher: So students, the first Conditionals is formed:
If + Present Simple--- Future Simple
The second Conditionals is formed
If =Past Simple --- Future in the Past.
VIII. Check students’ understanding.
Match the following parts of the sentences:
A) 1.If I go on a diet, A. we’ll make a snowman
2.If it’s sunny tomorrow, B. I’ll buy you some chocolate.
3.If john doesn’t hurry, C. she’ll have to take a taxi.
4.If it snows, D. I’ll lose weight.

B) Students make up their own 2 sentences using Conditional (1, 2) in written form.
Home-task: Making project ‘’ What is a typical English Breakfast?’’( lunch, dinner).
