The objectives of the lesson:

1.Educational aim: revise all the learnt material so far  about appearance of people.

2.Developing aim:to enable pupils to say and write about their relatives, to enable pupils to listen for detailed information.

3.Socio-cultural aim: raise awareness of people’s appearances.

The type of the lesson:mixed type (giving new knowledge, consolidation, testing)

The method of the lesson:CLT (Communicative Language Teaching), direct method, the audio-lingual method.

The way of teaching: Deductive (Presentation-Practice-Production)

Interaction:Group work, individual work.

The equipment of the lesson:English book, Workbook, laptop, pictures, whiteboard, diagram, slides,

table test, PISA test, glue.

Learning outcomes: By the end of the lesson pupils will be able to speak about their friends and family members.

Evaluation:  smiles and cards “You are the smartest” or “You are the fastest”

I Introduction

Activity 1. Listen and sing.

Objective: to warm up, create friendly atmosphere.

Procedure: Teacher plays the DVD and pupils sing together

DVD script:

Is he tall? (Tune of Are You Sleeping).

Is he tall? Is he strong?

Teacher: Good afternoon pupils.

Pupil:Good afternoon teacher.

Teacher:Take your sits.

Teacher:Who is on duty today?

Pupil:I am on duty today

Teacher: Who is absent today?

Pupil: All are present

Teacher: What season is it now?

Pupil:It is autumn.

Teacher: What is the weather like today?

Pupil: The weather is cold and shiny.

Teacher:What was your homework?

Pupil: Exercises 3a and 3 b.

Speaking about the news in Uzbekistan.

Teacher:Today we have 2 teams. Please introduce yourselves.

1st team: Our team “Teachers”

Our motto: March winds and April showers bring forth May flowers.

2nd team: Our team: “Pupils”

Our motto : Wisdom is better   than strength.

Teacher: Do you know what holiday is coming?

Pupils: Teachers’ Day

Teacher: Do you know any poems?

Pupils: Yes

Activity 2. Find the fruit/vegetable

Objective: Revise structure “Can I have a.?”  “I would like a….”

Procedure:  Teacher closespupil’s eyes with a scarf and gives a fruit or vegetable. Pupil should

 find its name by touching it, they find out the fruit or vegetable by touching it.Make up a sentence using  Can I have a …. ? I would like a….

Can I have a  glass of peach juice?    

Can I have a bowl of eggplant salad

Can I have a glass of tomato juice    

I would like a bowl of cabbage salad

I would like a glass of strawberry juice    

I would like a bowl of carrot salad

I would like a glass of plum juice    

I would like a bowl of apple juice

Activity 3. Play “Tic-tac-toe”

Objective: to revise the words.

Procedure: Teacher draws Tic-tac-toe grid.

One pupil from each team comes to the blackboard. Teacher asks or shows  the word in English pupils should tell the translation who tells the first puts X. The second pupil then if answers correctly puts O in any cell. The pupil who will be the first to put three continuous marks by answering correctly is the winner.

1) Who works in a shop?   - Shop assistant

2) Where do nurses work? – At hospital

3)Who works in a canteen” - Cook

4) translate “qovoq” – pumpkin

5) “hayvonlarniovqatlantirmoq” – feed the

animals

6)”Olxo’ri” – plum

7)”dasturxontuzamoq” – lay the table

8)”polnisupurmoq” – sweep the floor

9)”tug’ilgan kun bazmi” – birthday party

2018—The year of active business and support of innovational ideas and technologies.

2019- The year of active investments and social development.

Teacher: Do you know what is day off?

Pupils: It is “Dam olishkuni”

2.     Teacher: What holidays  of Uzbekistan do you know?

  1. New Year’s  Day – we celebrate New Year’s Day on the 1st of January. We give presents, get presents, dance and sing songs on New Year’s Day.
  2. Women’s Day – is in March. On the 8th of March we give our mothers presents.
  3. Navruz – is Asian New Year. We celebrate it on the 21st of March. At Navruz we eat special food-sumalak, plant trees and flowers, dance and sing songs.
  4. Independence Day – is on the 1st of September. We usually watch fireworks on Independence Day.
  5. Teacher’s Day – we celebrate Teacher’s Day in October. We usually give our teachers flower, sing songs and dance.
  6. Constitution Day – it is celebrated on the 8th of December.

Activity 5. Look and match the days and dates

Objective:Revise holidays, dates.

October 1 – Teacher’s Day

March 8 – Women’s Day

September 1 – Independence Day

December 31 – New Year’s Day

March 21 – Navruz

December  8 – Constitution Day

IV Consolidation

Activity6. Picture dictation.

Objective:Consolidate new words

Procedure: Teacher shows the picture from the new vocabulary, pupils should write the words.

           
   
     
     
 
 

V Reflection and action plan

Summing up of the lesson:

Teacher counts the smiles of  the groups and says who which group is a winner.

Marking.  Marking by giving out the cards.

Giving homework.

  1. Learn new words.
  2. Prepare a Portfolio.
