Организационный момент:
Good morning, my talented students! Let’s have a really interesting and productive lesson today! First, let’s read the associations on the board and guess the topic of our lesson:

Very nice! Today we are speaking about phones and discussing advantages and disadvantages of using them.
Now each of you has to think of and write down 3 your own associations with the word «phone». Then exchange the associations in the pairs and after that in the groups of 3-4 students. Write down the associations you lack into your copybooks. After exchanging the associations in the groups be ready to read them aloud. Are there more positive or negative associations?
(Учащиеся читают ассоциации с доски и угадывают тему урока. После озвучивания темы урока каждый учащийся придумывает и записывает в тетрадь 3 любые ассоциации со словом «phone». Далее ребята в парах, а затем в группах по 3-4 человека по очереди обмениваются и записывают те ассоциации, которые у них отсутствуют.
Представитель каждой группы вслух читает все ассоциации.
Вместе с учителем ребята определяют каких ассоциаций было больше – положительных или отрицательных.)
2. Актуализация знаний:
The game «Crocodile».
Each student takes a card with the active vocabulary and shows a word or a word combination with gestures, nothing can be said.

(Каждый учащийся выбирает 1 карточку с активной лексикой и показывает остальным учащимся слово или словосочетание, не говоря ни слова.)
3.Основная часть урока. Судебный процесс (систематизация знаний).
We give the word to the secretary.
Secretary says, “All rise, (the) court is now in session! А case about pros and cons of using a phone is being heard. The trial will be conducted by … Please, sit down. ”
Judge says, “Let’s hear the prosecution side! ”
(Группа ребят подготовили сценку про отрицательные стороны использования телефона.)
Sasha: Hi, guys! I haven’t seen you for ages! How is the summer going?
Max: This summer is really exciting! My family and I went on a trip to Sochi. There I visited interesting places, went diving and took lots of snaps.
Matvey: Great! I joined a scout club a month ago. We went on a hike to the forest, learnt to put up tents and make fires! What about you, Sasha?
Sasha: Well, I spent all my days at home playing computer games. I can’t imagine my life without a phone. Sometimes my eyes hurt as I play on the phone for many hours. I chat with other players every day. It’s a real fun!
Max: You are crazy about phone games! You are addicted to them!
Matvey: We are going to play football this afternoon. Let’s join us!
Sasha: Sorry, I can’t. A new game starts in 10 minutes, I want to be the winner today. Maybe, next time.
Matvey: Sorry to hear that. Bye!
Judge says, “Let’s hear the defense side!”

Daniel: Sara, what’s up?
Vlad: Why are you crying?
Sara: I think I’ve lost my phone somewhere! I can’t imagine my life without it. I use it to stay in touch with parents, check my marks and search for new information.
Daniel: I agree, phones are very useful. I always listen to music on my phone and use it as a navigator.
Vlad: And I sometimes use it as a flashlight.
Daniel: Let’s look for your phone. Do you hear? Somebody’s phone is ringing! There it is, behind the desk! Is this phone yours?
Sara: It’s mine! I’m so happy! My mum is calling. She always calls me if I’m late.
Vlad: We’re glad to help you. See you, bye!
Daniel: Bye!
Judge says, “Jurors, you have listened to both sides and filled in the evaluation cards”.
