Good morning children and our dear guests. I’m very glad to see you. How are you today? I think everything is OK. Are you ready to start our lesson?

Well, children. Do you like travelling? Do you like searching for something new, interesting and very exciting? So, if you do, we shall travel in London today.
As you know, London is one of the oldest, biggest, most famous cities in the world. As you know, it is the capital of Great Britain. It is one of the largest political, economical, business, cultural centers of Europe and the UK. And so today we`ll travel across London.
When you start travelling, what do you do?
First you plan your travelling. Then you book tickets, reserve rooms in a hotel, buy some new clothes and maybe you go to the tourist information office.

: Let`s start with a London sightseeing tour on a double-decker bus.
M. : OK. Fine. Let`s go to Trafalgar Square. The tour starts from there. I haven`t been to Trafalgar Square for a long time.

Speaker 1: Hello. Could you give us some information about London`s famous sights?
Information Officer: What would you like to visit in London?
Speaker 2 : We haven`t seen anything yet. But I heard about London Zoo and I`d like to see it.
Inf. Off.: OK. Well. Have a look at our site. We have a very detailed information about London Zoo on it. You can find the historical facts, the photos, the necessary information about time of work, location, ticket price and you can see the map of the zoo on it and find out how you can get there.
Sp. 2: OK. Thank you. Of course, I`ll use it.
Sp.1: And I`d like also to visit the Natural History Museum. As far I know, it is the national collection of zoology and botany and is founded in a very remarkable building.
Inf. Off.: OK. We have information about this museum, too. Look! You can see the photos, find all the necessary information about it.

Inf. Off.: Hello. This is London tourist information office. Can I help you?
Speaker 1: How do you do? I`m Josie Brown. I`m a tourist from Canada. And I`d like to visit Madame Tussaud`s. But the problem is that I don`t know the address and don`t know how to get there.
Inf. Off.: OK. I can help you. I`ll give the address.
Marylebone Road, London NW15LR. You can get there by bus №13,18,27,30 or underground( metro station Baker Street).
Speaker 1: And how does it work?
Inf. Off.: They work every day from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

LondonSightseeing Tour.
Hello, boys and girls. We welcome you to London. London is one of the largest cities in the world. About 7 million people live here. London is 2 thousand years old. London`s most famous sights are Tower Bridge, Big Ben, and the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square and St. Paul`s Cathedral. You`ll see all these places and much more of London from our red double- decker.
We start from Trafalgar Square. On the column in the centre there is a statue of Admiral Nelson who defeated the French at the battle of Trafalgar in1805. To the left you can see the National Gallery. It has a fine collection of European Paintings.
Now we are coming to Piccadilly Circus. It is the meeting point of 6 streets.
We`ve just passed Piccadilly Circus and now we are making our way to Buckingham Palace. Look right. We are passing Hyde Park. In the park anyone can stand up and say what they want. It is a very democratic park.
Now we are at Buckingham Palace. It is the London home of the Queen. When the flag is flying on the top she is at home. Look, it is Changing the Guard. It happens every day at 11 a.m.
We have just turned left and you can see St. James`s Park. It is one of the royal parks. Here you can see pelicans and ducks. There are a lot of parks and gardens in London. In Regent`s Park there is the London Zoo. It is one of the biggest zoos in the world.
In front of you can see the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. The Houses of Parliament is the seat of the British government. Big Ben is one of the most famous clocks in the world.
In the moment you will see Westminster Abbey. It is the royal church. Here you can see the tombs of many British kings and queens and other famous people and the beautiful Henry VII Chapel. Now we are crossing Tower Bridge over the river Thames. From here you can see the Tower of London. It was the fortress, a royal palace and later the prison. It is a museum now. There are a lot of interesting collections in the Tower of London. The ravens are another famous sight. The legend says that without them The Tower will fall. The Raven Master is the person who gives them food. Earlier in our tour we saw a famous royal church, Westminster Abbey. We are now making our way to the second famous church, St. Paul`s Cathedral. It is the greatest work of the architect Sir Christopher Wren.
We are now going along Fleet Street to the Strand. On the right we can see Covent Garden. It was a big fruit and vegetable market. It is now a tourist shopping centre with cafes and restaurants. We`ll stop here. Our tour has finished. I hope very much that you have enjoyed this tour of London. Thank you and goodbye.

All right, children. I can say that you know a lot of about the sights of London. You have just visited most of them. The next task is to guess what sight it is. Some of will read the description and the rest will try to guess.
What sight is it?
Tourist of London always want to visit Westminster and to see it. They want to see the clock in its tower and to hear the bells. (Big Ben)
You can see it from the river Thames. It is very old. It has a long and cruel history. It was a fortress, a royal palace and later a prison. It is a museum now. ( The Tower of London)
This is the symbol of England. The legend says that it was founded by St. Peter himself. The coronation of all British kings and queens takes place in it. (Westminster Abbey)
It is one of the famous bridges across the Thames. It was built in 1894. It opens and ships go up and down the river Thames. ( Tower Bridge)
You can also visit it and find there London Zoo, a boating lake and an open-air theatre, where in summer you can enjoy Shakespear`s plays. ( Regent`s Park)
