Aims of the lesson: to present the structure “What colour is_____?” “What colour are___?” To develop pupils’ skills and habits in reading, listening understanding; writing and oral speech. To provide aesthetic bringing-up.

Methods of the lesson: explanation, listening, pair work, individual work, question-answer.

Visual aids: an interactive board, pictures, cards

Procedure of the lesson:

Organization moment

Greeting: explanation of the objectives

T: Today we shall speak about colours. You will work in groups, paint the picture, act out the dialogue.

Phonetic exercise

Spring is green,

Summer is bright

Autumn is yellow,

Winter is white

The main part of the lesson:

New words

Black Yellow

White Red

Green Blue

Beige Violet

Grey Brown

Pink Orange

Presentation of the colours: red, blue, white, yellow, green, brown, black, grey, orange, etc.

T: Children look at the blackboard

This is blue, this is red, this is orange.

Repeat after me, please, and answer my questions.

What is this? This is a pen. It’s white.

Is it white? Yes, it is.

Pictures for presentation: a hat, a pen, a pencil, T-shirt, etc.
