Equipment	OHP, posters, song, assessment paper, reflection paper

Expected results	They will know differences between 2 tenses; will use in their practice; will develop 4 language skills
The procedure of the lesson	Timing	Teacher’s action		Student’s action
I stage Warm - up	3 min 7 min	Greeting/introducing To divide into 2 groups through “Past Simple and Past Continuous song”		Ss answers Ss listen, then repeat after the teacher, then sing a song together, and when music stop they will stand on the newspapers and divide into 2 groups.
II stage The main part	10 min 5 min 12 min	Brainstorming. “Fluency drill” # 1 application Ask question: What kind of Tenses did we use in our drill?		Ss will read, repeat after the teacher, then work in pairs Ss answer
		Work in books. Read the texts and find two tenses in groups		Work in books
		Group work. Groups will explain and compare using of two tenses		They will make posters and speak in support, give their own examples
III stage. Formative assessment.	3 min	“Two stars, one wish”		Ss will evaluate two the best sides of opposite group and will give feedback
Reflection	5 min	“The bright star” the main aim of this strategy is achieving the star from bottom to top. They have to write verbs in the past. Ts ask them: What did we do during the lesson?		Ss will write verbs in the past

Were you reading about Vancouver?

Answer:

He was looking for his keys.
Ken was sending a text messages.
I was at the cinema yesterday.

Yes, we were. We were reading about Vancouver.
