Topic: My Favourite Toys.
Objectives : to improve the vocabulary on the topic” Toys”, to encourage pupils to use it in the connected speech, to develop learners’ reading and writing skills, listening comprehension and group communication skills, to develop learners’ memory, logical thinking, imagination, to widen learners’ outlook.
Equipment: flash cards “ Toys”, a tape-recorder, a tape, cards with tasks for listening comprehension and colouring, cards with phonetic drill, letters, toys.
Lesson Procedure.
I. Greeting. A song “ Good Morning”.( 2 minutes)
- Good morning! - Good morning!
- How are you? – How are you?
- It’s so nice to have you here with me today.
-- Good morning! - Good morning!
- How are you? - Just fine!
- How do you, how do you do! - Hello! Good day!
II. Warming-up.(2 minutes)
Look at the blackboard. What can you see? ( a ball, a doll, a train, a kite, a plane) Do you like to play with them?
Today we are going to talk about your favourite toys , play different games and sing songs.
III. Phonetic Drill.
[ d ] dog, good, day, doll, teddy bear.
[ t ] toy, two, train, ten, computer, kite.
IV. Revision. ( 6 min.)
1. - Who likes to play with toys? Are you children or grown-ups? How old are you?
Let’s sing a song “ How Old Are You?”
- How old are you?
- I’m older than you.
- How old are you?
- I’m older than you.
- I’m one. - I’m six.
- I’m two. - I’ m seven years old.
- I’ m three. - I’m eight.
- I’m four. - I’m nine.
-I’m five. - I’m ten years old.

2. - Let’s repeat the toys. ( using flashcards games : “What’s missing”, “What is it?”)
- What is your favourite toy?
- My favourite toy is a ball.
- My favourite toy is a train.
V. Listening.(10 min.)
- Listen to the text and match children and their toys.
- Listen once more and colour the toys.
1. Black. My favourite toy is a computer.
2. Purple. My favourite toy is a bike.
3. Yellow. My favourite toy is a car.
4. Red. My favourite toy is a ball.
5. Blue. My favourite toy is a doll.
6. Grey. My favourite toy is a train.
- Now describe your pictures.
VI. Speaking.( 7 min.)
- Guessing Game.
Let’s divide into two teams. Take a piece of picture and make the whole one. ( a ball and a plane). Our guests have hidden the toys. Use the balls of yarn and find these guests. Then ask them about toys : Have you got a ….?
- There are many toys here. Whose toy is this?

VII. Resting Time.( 3 min.)
- Let’s do some exercises with a Teddy Bear.

VIII. Writing.(10 min.)
1. Match capital and small letters.
Aa, Bb, Cc, Ll, Ii, Zz, Gg, Mm , Nn, Dd, Rr.
We’ve got chickens that lost their mums. Let’s help them.
2. There are some pictures on the blackboard. Let’s name these animals and toys. And now match them with the letters.
