T: Good morning! How are you? Glad to see you. Let’s start our lesson. Firstly, I’d like to know your opinion about the following saying.
Formulation of the aims and objectives.
T: Look at the screen. (слайд 1). Do you have any ideas? Do you agree or disagree with the statement?
S1: I agree, I think that behavior of a person is more important than the look.
S2: I partly disagree, sometimes the way we look is very important, it creates the first impression.
T:Work in pair and ask each other the following questions (слайд 2)
T: Judging by the questions and the proverb we’ve discussed, what do you think we are going to speak about today?
S: Fashion, clothes, the role of fashion and clothes in our life.
T: That’s right! Now open your books on page 21. Look it though and tell what we’ll do to discuss our topic.
S1: We’ll work with the texts.
S2: We’ll describe and compare pictures.
T: You are quite right!
Vocabulary:
T: Before we start working with the texts, let’s look at the words and phrases we’ll need today. (приложение 1, слайд 3)
T:You may use dictionaries and match the meanings of the words with the phrases.

T: We will listen to three teenagers speaking about their preference in fashion, follow the texts and do exercise 2. But at first look though the questions in exercise 2.

T: We’ve discussed the opinions of British teenagers. Now let’s find out your opinions. (Teacher asks students questions from exercise 2)
T: Let’s return to your table, whose opinion about fashion and the way to dress you would share?
S1: I would share the opinion of John, because I also like comfortable clothes and I am not into fashion.
S2: I would agree with Amy, I love shopping and trendy clothes.
S3: As for me, I would share Lisa’s opinion, I like creative things, and I like to combine different styles.
T: Thank you for your opinions. Now let’s remember the proverb we’ve discussed at the beginning of the lesson.(слайд 1) Who do you think of our characters (John, Lisa or Amy) would agree with it and who would disagree?
S1: I think John would agree. He doesn’t care much about the way he looks.
S2: As for Amy and Lisa, I think they would disagree, because they pay more attention to fashion and the way they look than John does.
T: Thank you, I think you are right. But do you think there are special events or occasions when the way we wear is really important?
S1: When people go to job interviews.
S2: Dress code at work
S3: School uniform
T: These are the great ideas. That’s why we can conclude that there are events when it is very important the way we look.

Today we’ve discussed teenage fashion in the UK. At home you need to think about teenage fashion in Russia. You will write a short paragraph using the questions from exercise 5.
