The aims of the lesson:

1. Educational: to revise Present Continuous Tense and talking about clothes.
2. Developing: to develop the pupils’ reading, writing, listening and speaking abilities.
3. Bringing –up: to bring up pupils’ interest in English language, to teach the pupils to share their opinion.

The type of the lesson: a lesson of revising covered materials from Unit 5.(Present Continuous)

The methods of the lesson: complex work, individual work, question-answer, thinking.

Teaching aids: Audio CD, an interactive board, flashcards.

Intersubject connection: Music, Russian, Arts.

The procedure of the lesson:

• Organization moment.

Good morning children. I’m glad to see you.

Are you ready for the lesson?  sit down please.

Let’s start our lesson with a song “Hello”

(Pupils sing a song) Audio1.

    Today we’ll speak about clothes and Present Continuous Tense.                                                                                                              

• Phonetic drill:
• Socks and shoes
• Jeans and T-shirt
• Trousers and trainers
• Jacket and skirt

(teacher reads and pupils repeat after her)

                    Task1.

-Now, look at the blackboard!

There are some vowel and consonant sounds on it. Let’s pronounce them one by one.

(Pupils name the sounds on board one by one)

1. Now let’s read phonetic transcription of next words and translate them :

         Guess the clothes! Change the letters and write the words on the blackboard.

Revision of the present continuous tense.

Task:    Look and write. What are they wearing?

There is a picture with 6 mice on the board, pupils have to look and write full sentence.

1.Bill is wearing white shirt and black trousers.

2.Ben is wearing blue T-shirt and red shorts.

3.Cleo is wearing pink dress and blue socks.

4.Sue is wearing white T-shirt and yellow skirt.

5.Joe is wearing brown jumper

6.Emily is wearing orange dress and yellow socks.

                 Teacher asks: 5 pupils questions about their clothes:

                (Denis what are you wearing today? I’m wearing ….)

-Your next task is to make the sentences with these words:

Task7. Describing people’s clothes.

Look at the blackboard and choose one number from 1 to 15

(Pupils choose 1 number and describe person and use Present Continuous in sentences)

Eg: 1. She is wearing white T-shirt and skirt she is playing tennis.

           He is wearing blue T-shirt and black short, he is playing football.

Task 8.   Sing a song.

-Now we are going to listen to a song  then we’ll sing this song with the CD.

Listen please.
