I. Introduction.

T.: Good morning, dear children. I’m very glad to see you again. How are you?

Today we'll speak about technologies and use of them in our life.

Here is a reflexive card, which you to fill in during the lesson. Now you know the theme. The aims. Let’s begin.

Here is the question, the answer on which we must find at the end of our lesson. Do we need new technologies? Why?










II. Presentation.

1). Today we’ll have a word gallery in the form of drawing. Please, come to my place and take a word. Don’t show it to your neughbor, only draw the symbol of it. (таинственные знаки) Please, speak about these pictures, what do you see? Guess the word. Then do the glossary. Pronounce all the words



Children guess and the author must explain why he (she) took this word.

III. Practice.

1) Working on the new theme. You are suggested a text about communication technologies, but not as usual in your textbook – you must combine the text from the logical part, then read the sentences and on the other side of your text there’ll be the title of it. method “Scrambled sentences”

2) Let’s work in pairs and read it with stops, expressing your attitude to the theme. For example: yes, I agree with this and so on.



Students suggest their proposals.

3) True or false sentences:

1.Some people say that the Internet and mobile phones are anti-social. (true)

2.Communication technology is bringing people together. (true)

3. Family members now contact less than ever before (false)

4. Everyone uses Internet, from five-year old kids to grandparents (true)

5. Technology has only negative effect on communication within families. (false)

The students do the task on right and wrong sentences

IV. Production

1). Now you’ll have a project work. Please write about these ideas:

  • Communication technology is uniting people. Family members are in regular contact today than ever before

  • Many parents can use new technologies. Technologies have a very negative effect on family communication.

While working on the theme, answer the questions, which we had at the beginning of the lesson: Do we need innovations? Do they have positive and negative effects on people?


Group work “The tree of predictions”

Children write ideas on the leafs, in the centre of the tree

Say your negative and positive form ( “fortune tree”)

2). Demonstration of the projects. Appreciation.




3). Let’s use new technology (mobile phone). You may write any SMS messaging to your relatives or write a letter as it was years before. Here you are suggested

4) Do we need new technologies? Why? Do you find the answer to this question?
