Урок английского языка в 5 классе на тему : "Рождество в Великобритании"

Тип урока: обобщающий с элементами введения нового материала.

ЦЕЛИ:

Обучающие:

1. Организовать повторение лексического и страноведческого материала по данной теме.

2. Познакомить учащихся с некоторыми традициями и обычаями празднования Рождества в Великобритании.

3. Способствовать формированию у учащихся навыков социолингвистической и лингвострановедческой компетенций.

Развивающие:

1. Развивать творческую фантазию, познавательный интерес, инициативу в осуществлении иноязычной речевой деятельности.

2. Развивать межпредметную связь с музыкой, изобразительным искусством.

Воспитательные:

1. Воспитывать у учащихся чувство прекрасного и уважение к культуре и традициям других народов.

2. Воспитывать чувство взаимной ответственности, прививать навыки работы в коллективе.

Оборудование: елочные игрушки (например, шары, конфеты и колокольчики), заготовки рождественских открыток. Карточки с заданиями, карточки со словами-опорами, «рождественская ель», песни, видео, цветные карандаши, клей.

Ход урока.

I. GREETING

Teacher: Good afternoon, dear boys and girls. Glad to see you again!

P. Good afternoon, teacher. We are glad to see you, too.

Teacher: We start our lesson.

Say me, what day of the week is it today?

What date is it today?

How are you today?

What’s the weather like today?

What season is it now?

What can you do in winter?

And do you like winter?

What winter holidays do you know?

Our lesson today is connected with a beautiful holiday, the most popular holiday in Great Britain. This holiday is the favourite holiday of all English children. Look at the slide with the poem and try to guess the holiday. (SLIDE №1)

Christmas Day, happy day!
We are glad and very gay
We can dance and sing and say:
“Welcome, welcome, Christmas Day!”

2. Учащиеся слушают и отвечают на вопрос:

Teacher: What holiday are we going to speak about?

Teacher:  The theme of our lesson is Christmas in Britain. (SLIDE №2)

3. Teacher: Look at the picture. (На картине изображение рождественской елки). This is а traditional “Christmas tree”. It is the symbol of Christmas. There are а lot of symbols, things and words, which are connected with this holiday. What are they? (SLIDE №3) (Ученики называют некоторые символы Рождества: рождественские открытки, подарки и т.д. Ответы сопровождаются появлением опор: Santa Clause, Christmas tree, Merry Christmas, Christmas cards, presents, stocking .)

4. Teacher:  Children? Do you like decorating Christmas trees?

(SLIDE №4) Today we will do it at our lesson. But you need some Christmas decorations. And now we will have 2 teams. Some of you will be SNOWFLAKES and others will play for the team SNOWBALLS. Come to me, take a card with a picture on it and take your seats. (SLIDE №5) I give a Christmas tree for every team and you should decorate it. For every right task you’ll get a bauble. Let’s start to play and decorate our Christmas trees.

Task 1

Do you know any Christmas tongue twisters? I have some of them. Your task is to read them correctly. (SLIDE №6)

1) Santa’s sleigh slides on slick snow.
2) Bobby brings bright bells.
3) Tiny Timmy trims the tall tree with tinsel.

4) Seven Santas sing silly songs.

Task 2

Teacher: I give you cards. Match the pictures and the words. (Команды получают карточки с рисунками и соответствующими словами, находят им пару и приклеивают на лист. Результаты вывешиваются на доску)

Task 3

Teacher: What do you know about Christmas and Christmas traditions in Britain? 

(дети рассказывают о Рождестве)

Read the text and answer the questions. (Команды получают задания. Время на подготовку – 5 мин. Отвечают на вопросы учителя. За правильный ответ получают украшение для елки). (Слайд 2. с текстом и вопросами)

(SLIDE №8) The most popular holiday in Great Britain is Christmas. They celebrate Christmas on the 25th of December. There are a lot of traditions connected with Christmas. Every year the people of Norway give the city of London a present. It’s a big Christmas tree and it stands in Trafalgar Square. Most families decorate their houses with a Christmas tree; buy presents for the family and friends, write Christmas cards. Children hang stockings at the end of their beds hopping that Farther Christmas will fill them with toys and sweets. The traditional Christmas dinner is roast turkey with vegetables and Christmas pudding.

Task 4

Teacher: (SLIDE №9) And now look at the board. In each group of words there is a word, which does not go with others. Find this word, please! Name the odd word. (Учащиеся выбирают «лишнее» слово и получают одно украшение для елки за каждый правильный ответ.)

1. Turkey, pudding, pumpkin pie, vegetables.

2. Santa Clause, holiday, Christmas tree, apple tree.

3. Christmas pudding, Easter, ring, turkey.

Игра “Будь внимательным” (Когда учитель поднимает правую руку, ученики должны крикнуть- Merry Christmas, когда учитель поднимает левую руку- Happy New Year, обе руки- Father Frost, топает - Santa Claus.)

5.Teacher: We have decorated our Christmas trees together. They are very beautiful. Now it’s time to write Christmas cards. Look at them. You had to colour them, to stick the wishes and to give to your friends and our guests. (Учащиеся выбирают понравившееся заготовки рождественских открыток и раскрашивают их).

Teacher: Let’s remember what you can write on the cards. (Ученики вспоминают некоторые варианты поздравлений, учитель предлагает другие. Ребята выбирают один из вариантов и записывают его на своей открытке.)

Teacher: Your cards are very nice. You may give them to your friends.

6.Teacher: We have decorated your Christmas trees. They are very beautiful.

So, it’s time to finish our lesson. What parts of the lesson did you like? What new information did you get?
