I’d like you to listen to the text about William Shakespeare and his hometown and say which facts are true, false or not mentioned in it. So, please, open your books at p. 222 ex. 1. VII. Сценическая постановка | As you remember, we are in the theatre. A couple of young people came here and they are searching for their seats. Please, look! Is it serious or curious situation? | He: This theatre is beautiful! Perfect surroundings for an opera! She: I agree! So… where are we sitting? In the stalls? He: No, the stalls were fully booked. Our seats are somewhere in the circle. She: Oh, that’s ok… which raw are we on? He: Well, let’s see… Our tickets say W10 and W11 so that’s… err… five… six rows up from here… Oh no! We’re in the very back row! She: Oh, my goodness, I can hardly see the stage! He: Look! there’s a whole row of empty seats a few rows further down. Let’s move over there! She: I don’t know. They might be reserved… He: I don’t think so. The performance is about to start. She: Ok, let’s risk it! He: Ah, that’s better… Oh, no! She: What’s now? He: The man who just sat down in front of me is really tall! I can’t see a thing! It is a curious situation. |
