Kazakhstan: Democratic, Sovereign, Generous, Multinational, Independent , Friendly, Peaceful, Hospitality, Member of many international organizations, The Leader of the OSCE, The Winner of the EXPO.
Work in groups, one speaker from each group will come and retell the topic about Kazakhstan’s nature, population, wildlife, plants, climate, and geographical situation. Geographical situation: KZ is situated on the crossroads of two ancient cultures – Europe and Asia. It borders with Russia to the north , with China to the east, with Asian republics of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to the south.
Population: 16 870000 people. Area: 2 724 900 square km. Wildlife: The wildlife of KZ is very rich. There are 158 species of mammals, 4 species of reptiles, 12 species of amphibians and 150 species of fish. They are included into International Red Book. Plants: Blue spruce – true decoration of the Alatau mountains, saxaul can seen everywhere from Almaty to Karaganda.
Climate: is best characterized as continental. Temperatures vary considerably from north to south. The winter is cold and summer is hot, there are not much rainfalls. The climate of Kazakhstan allows for a variety of grains to be grown such as wheat, barley and rice and a wide range of fruits and vegetables.
