Listen to me.
There is a beautiful and sad legend. Saint Valentine lived in Rome in the 3rd century AD. At that time the emperor of Rome was Claudius. He tried to get more people for his army. But men didn’t want to go to the army because they didn’t want to leave their wives and children. So Claudius passed a law which banned marriages.
Valentine was a Christian priest who didn’t like the new law. He secretly married people who were in love. But the soldiers caught him and put in prison. He was executed on the 14th of February in 269 AD.
