Theme:  Домашние рецепты /“Home remedies”.     

Aims: 

             совершенствование коммуникативных компетенций в говорении.
развивать знания по поставленной проблеме и практиковать учеников в устной речи;
повышать познавательный интерес к английскому языку в процессе формирования языковой компетенции;
 

Visual aids:   cards, blackboard, pictures, slides

Type of the lesson: mixed

Liter:     Teacher's book, pupil’s book, e-textbook

The procedure of the lesson

I. Org. moment:   Good morning dear school girls and school boys:

     T____CH                     Good morning, Good morning

    Children                                Good morning, Good morning

     T --CL       Now let's look at and smile. And now look at me and smile. Let's start our lesson of English. Today the theme of our lesson is “Home remedies”. Today we'll speak about   home remedies, and learn by heart new words and do tasks.

Now who wants to answer questions:

                                                                     -What date is it today?

                                                                     -What day of the week is it today?

II. Phonetic drill:   Listen and repeat.

Group the words into two categories. Think of the general names for the categories:

headache, ear, eye, toothache, leg, mouth, earache, hair, arm, finger, backache, throat, insomnia, lip, sore throat, hand, head

III. Control of the homework:   Words ex. 5 p. 102

T—CL          

III. Presentation of the new theme   

Open your notebook, write down the date of our lesson and theme:

Home remedies”.

Vocabulary

a headache, a  toothache, an earache, a backache,  an insomnia,  a sore throat, a cough, the flu

Illnesses.

Can you name these illnesses?

Read and remember!

a)     Read the text

b)       Answer the question

When do you have a minor health problem?

Do you usually go to the doctor? Do you get smth. from the chemist’s or use home remedy?

Physical training.

IV. Consolidation of the new theme: 

c) Talk to your partner. True or false.

        What should  you do for a cold?

- Take a glass of warm milk with honey and drink.

      - Don’t drink cold water.

- I think you should get some medicine.

 

d) Write an interesting home or folk remedy Ex. 8 p. 100

Write advices for these problems:

1. a cold

2. a headache

3. an insomnia

4. a toothache

 

e) Talk to your partner about your remedies

Match the words with right translation:

1. a headache             a) зубная боль

2. a backache             b) ушная боль

3. a cold                    c) головная боль

4. a toothache            d) грипп

5. a cough                  e) бессонница

6. the flu                    f) простуда

7. an insomnia            g) спинная боль

8. an earache              h) кашель

 

f) Make a dialogue for problems: a toothache, a cold

g) Act out your dialogue.

 

h) Guess the illnesses:

When you can’t sleep -

When your back hurts -

When you are cold –

Do the crossword.
