This holiday is so –called because it`s time when trades people receive “ a Christma Box” – some money in appreciation of the work they have carried out all year. Holidays are so called because there are days on which banks are legally closed. Most fall on a Monday. It is a day when many people buy chocolate eggs and have Easter egg hunts outdoors. Long ago, each child hung a stocking, or sock, over the fireplace. Santa entered down the chimney and left candy and presents inside the socks for the children. Today the tradition is carried on.
