The theme of our lesson today is the flora of Kazakhstan. Today at our lesson we will speak about Kazakhstan’s nature.

  1. Warming-up activity:

  1. Pronunciation

[ɑ:] – grass, large, parts, plants

[æ]- ash, aplle, maple, saffron, black

[i:] – cedar, needle, believe

[e] – desert, fescue, feather grass


  1. True or false:

  1. Kazakhstan steppes cover a great part of the country.

  2. In the mid-summer the grass burns and becomes yellow because of the sun.

  3. Oak trees do not grow in the area of the forest steppe.

  4. In humid places near the rivers there are reeds and sedges.

      1. The main part of the lesson:

  1. New vocabulary: p. 127 ex. II

  1. Read the text for information ex. II p. 127

  2. Checking comprehension: answer the questions:

  3. What grows in the mountains? Name the flowers.

  4. What flower is the symbol of mountains?

III. Grammar revising: Degrees of comparison p.129 ex.IV.

  1. Writing: fill in the gaps with appropriate form of adjectives: ex. 1 p. 129

  2. Speaking: read and remember how to use adjectives in the sentences. Ex. 2 p. 129

  1. Homework

Your homework will be read the text on the p. 131 the flora of Kazakhstan and make a claster, learn new words
