Тeacher: Good afternoon, boys! How are you? I am glad to see you. Sit down, please!

-Who is on duty today?

-What the date is it today?

-Who is absent today?

Teacher: Good afternoon, boys. Sit down, please. Today we will have an unusual lesson, because we'll speak about Holidays, Traditions and Customs of the English-speaking countries. Besides, there are too many guests today in our class-room, that's why let's show them our language skills.

The topic of our lesson today will be "English Holidays".

Тeacher: So, every country and nation has their own traditions and customs. It's very important to know traditions and customs of different people, especially if we want to know their language. We can't say: " we know English", if we do not know English traditions. Besides, they are very important in the life of English people. They are proud of their traditions and keep them up carefully. That's why we are going to know more about British holidays today.

Teacher: Before beginning our lesson, let’s make a little warm-up

Teacher: As we know there are several holidays in the year. And today we'll talk about only late-autumn, winter and early-spring holidays in Britain and traditions connected with them.

And, now, the first game. Look at the blackboard, please, and find the right date for every holiday:

Тeacher: Yes, you are right. Thank you very much! And who can tell us about this holiday?

Тeacher: Thank you, very much. But now we'll sing another song. Do you know
" Jingle Bells"? Let's sing it together.

Pupils: " Jingle Bells"

Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way.

Pupils: Yes, we can. On New Year Eve.

Task 2.

The next task is to describe about our native holidays. In order to describe, at first you must paint it on a poster. Ok, you have 10 minutes to prepare it. Please begin!

Teacher: Dear guests, my children prepared a little sketch for you. Please, see it.
