В современном обществе тестирование стало неотъемлемой частью контроля уровня знаний по английскому языку. Существует огромное количество контрольно-измерительных тестов, используемых учителями на уроках при повторении, закреплении и проверке пройденного материала. Обычно тестирование проводится после прохождения определенной темы или в конце триместра с целью выявления уровня знаний, полученных за определенный этап обучения.

Сам термин «тестирование» как метод педагогического исследования можно охарактеризовать как целенаправленное, одинаковое для всех испытуемых обследование, проводимое в строго контролируемых условиях, позволяющее объективно измерить изучаемые характеристики педагогического процесса. В основе данной формы контроля лежит использование заданий стандартной формы, которое и получило название «тест» что в переводе с английского «test» означает испытание, исследование, проверка, проба, эксперимент.

Считается, что основная роль тестирования в обучении английскому языку заключается в обратной связи и в контроле уровня полученных знаний, и, чем теснее взаимосвязаны тестирование и учебный процесс, тем эффективнее учебный процесс и качественнее тестирование. Также можно определить тест как комплекс заданий, подготовленный в соответствии с определенными требованиями с целью определения его показателей качества. Тест позволяет выявить у тестируемого степень лингвистической и коммуникативной компетенции. Результаты теста поддаются определенной оценке по заранее установленным критериям. Задания в тесте представляют собой утверждения, которые в зависимости от ответа испытуемого могут превратиться в истинные или ложные высказывания. Образование ложного высказывания свидетельствует о незнании данного учебного предмета.

Роль тестирования в работе учителей постоянно растет. Интерес к тестированию объясняется тем, что помимо своей основной функции – контроля, оно может служить средством диагностики трудностей языкового материала для учащихся, мерой определения эффекта обученности и способом прогнозирования успешности или неуспешности обучения. Большой интерес к тестированию проявляют учителя средних школ и все чаще применяют тестирование в повседневной учебной работе.

Данный материал может быть использован для контроля уровня знаний по английскому языку учащихся 5-6 классов общеобразовательных школ. Поможет выявить пробелы языковой ( лексика, грамматика), речевой( говорение, аудирование, письмо, чтение), компенсаторной( умение выражать мысль иначе с помощью использования синонимических средств,использовать разноструктурные средства выражения), и учебно- познавательной ( сравнение, сопоставление языковых явлений, самостоятельное умозаключение и вывод, построение словосочетаний и предложений по аналогии, работа с двуязычными словарями) компетенции.

Bird Island

Once there was a beautiful island. It was called Bird Island. Many birds lived on the island. There were big birds and small birds, blue birds and red birds. They were parrots, ostriches and eagles.

One day there was a very strong wind. It blew across the sea and the land. The birds were all afraid. The next day it was quiet and still. A small yellow bird sat in a tree.

“Who are you? Where do you come from? “ asked a parrot in his language.

The parrot said to the ostrich. “Who is this? Where does he come from? “

“I don’t know, “said the ostrich. “ I don’t understand his language. The wind carried him here. “

The night was quiet and still, but the yellow bird was unhappy.

“I don’t understand them, “he said. “ I don’t understand their language. “

Suddenly an eagle landed in the tree. “What’s the matter? “ she said. “Why are you crying? “

“I can’t understand the parrot, I can’t understand the ostrich,” said the yellow bird. “I can’t understand their language.”

“Don’t worry,” said the eagle. “I can teach you. Listen carefully. Sing after me.”

The yellow bird listened carefully and learn the language of the others birds. At last he was friends with all the other birds.
