Start 7 min Middle 8 min 5 min 15 min | Teacher greets the class and explains lesson objectives in a simplified form. Warm-up activity (W) Brainstorm vocabulary. Teacher introduces new vocabulary to learners. Learners work with new words, read them with the teacher and write some unknown words down into their vocabularies. Differentiation Learners that are more able help the others to read the words correctly. (I,W) Teacher tells leaners to start doing vocabulary exercises to show the communicative understanding. (I,P) Leaners continue doing exercises individually and then check the answers in pairs.(Pair assessment) (P) Leaners are told to turn down their papers and try to remember all the food items from the papers with exercises working with his/her neighboring classmate. The winner is a student who remembers the most food items! What is the most important meal of the day according to you? What does it consist of? What do you prefer for breakfast/lunch? Do you usually have desserts after meal? What time is your last meal? Teacher goes around the class and evaluates if the leaners communicate meaning clearly. Success criteria -Relevance to the topic -Usage of 6-7 topical vocabulary -Grammar accuracy (at least 2-3 spelling mistakes) |
