Well. I am glad to hear that everything is all right. So I suppose we can start our lesson now.

Children, look at the pictures that I have prepared for today's lesson and try to guess what we are going to speak about.







You are quite right. Today we are going to discuss our lifestyle and the ways of taking care about our health. Thousands years ago ancient Greeks said “Health is the best wealth”. So I've chosen this proverb to be the theme of our lesson today. (слайд 1). By the way, does everybody know what it means in Russian?

Good. But what words can be associated with the word “health”? I'll give you a magic flower and you should write these words on its leaves. I want you to do this work together. You've got 1 minute.

Well. Your time is up. Let me see what you've done. Dima, read what you have written.

There can be no doubt that health is very important for any person. It's very interesting for me to learn some facts about your lifestyle. I've prepared different questions for you. Your task is to take these questions and interview each other. Imagine that you are correspondents of a very famous TV programme “Health”. Let's begin.

Questions:

  1. When do you get up?

  2. What sports or games are you good at?

  3. Do you eat healthy food?

  4. Do you often ride your bike?

  5. Do you take a cold shower in the morning?

  6. How often do you visit doctors?

Well done. As it is known different people have different lifestyles. Now, friends, let's listen to four pupils speaking about their lifestyle. You should define their names and match their words with the following statements:

  1. Jessica has a healthy diet.

  2. Arnold is a successful sportsman.

3.Ron wants to start doing sports.

4. Ryan does different kinds of sport.

You 've got the sheets of paper with this task on the desks. Take them, look at the statements. While listening, write down the names of the speakers.

Certainly, all people should follow healthy lifestyle. And now open your text books on page 127 ex 4. Look at the picture, read the name of the text “Run for your life” and say what it can be about. Let’s read the text and complete the sentences after it.

I see you are a bit tired. Let's have a rest now. Listen to me and do

what I say. Now stand up, hands high up, hands down, to the sides, ahead, down, up, to the sides,

I want to divide you into two groups. On your desks you can see sheets of paper with different recommendations. The first group is to find the recommendations Tim should follow, the second group is to find the recommendations he shouldn't follow. You have 2 minutes to do this task.

(Recommendations:

1.to get up early

2.to eat breakfast in bed

3.to eat fruit and vegetables

4. to get up late

5. to eat many sweets and cakes

6. to spend more time outdoors

7. to take a cool shower in the morning

8.to spend much time on computer games

9.to keep regular hours

10.to watch television a lot

11.to do morning exercises

12. to go to the swimming pool)

Ok. Let' see what the first group will advice Tim.
