The earliest people living in Scotland were probably Iberians ; the Celts invaded in the 7 th century BC . The Romans called these people Picts. The Romans conquered the south of Scotland. After Roman times there were Picts in the north, Scots (from Ireland) in the west, Britons in the south – west and Angels or Anglo – Saxons in the the south east . In the 9 th century the Scots and Picts were united into a kingdom called Scotia. The name Scotland originated in the 11 century. What is more interesting that Scotland was invaded by Edward I of England in 1296, but the Scots resisted Strongly and England recognized Scottish independence in 1328.But in 1603 the crowns of the two nation, England and Scotland were united.

Mary : It`s so pleasant to wear uniform every day! Each school has its own. The colours of these girl`s neckties are like the colours of the Scottish national costume.
Boris : Hmm! May be wearing the uniform is not so boring!
Mary : Your are right!
