Урок – соревнование в 5 классе

«XXII OLYMPIC GAMES»

Цель: совершенствование и расширение лексического запаса по теме «Спорт. Выдающиеся российские спортсмены».

Задачи:

- Образовательные:

1 закрепить лексический и грамматический материал по теме «Спорт»;

2 расширить лексический запас учащихся;

2 научить переносить знания в новую ситуацию общения.

- Развивающие:

1 способствовать развитию памяти и логического мышления,

2 способствовать развитию интереса учащихся к изучению иностранного языка.

- Воспитательные:

1 воспитывать инициативность и активность учащихся,

2 воспитывать чувство патриотизма,

3 формировать чувство организованности, трудолюбия.

Используемые технологии: информационно-комуникационные, метод проекта.

Методы работы: игровые, групповые.

Материально-техническое обеспечение: компьютер, проектор, презентация, раздаточный материал.

Ход мероприятия.

1. Организационный момент.

- Good morning, children! I’m glad to see you! How are you?

- Today we shall have a competition between 3 groups. But at first I want you to listen to one song. And I think you’ll understand the topic of our completion.

- Did you understand what is this song about?

- That’s right. Today we’ll speak about XXII Olympic games in Sochi. (Слайд 1)

- The first task for you is to think out team names. You have 2 minutes.

- Well done! We met with our teams. Let’s begin out completion. Good luck!

- Have you ever seen the flag of Olympic Games? You can see it on the blackboard. (Слайд 2) And what do the rings and their color mean? You have 3 minutes to prepare the answer to this question and write down your answer.

- The time is over. Let’s check up your answers. Which team begins the first?

1. Олимпийские символы.

- I suppose, that everybody watched the XII Winter Olympic games in Sochi. Am I right? Name me, please, the symbols of this Olympic games. (Слайд 3)

- That’s right. They were a White Bear, a Hare and a Leopard. But do you know the symbol of the Paralympic Games? It is the next task for you. And you have only 1 minute to do it. (Слайд 4)

- Are you ready?

- It’s time to sum up the results for 2 contests.

- Do you know any proverbs about sports? You become some card. And the task for you is to find two part of the proverb. (Слайд 5)

- I believe, you know a lot about the history of Olympic games. And I want to check up this idea. You must read the text and answer to 8 questions after it. You have 10 minutes.

Olympic Games

The world's greatest international sports games are known as the Olympic Games.

The Olympic idea means friendship, fraternity and cooperation among the people of the world. The Olympic Movement proves that real peace can be achieved through sport.

The Olympic emblem is five interlinked rings: blue, yellow, black, green and red. Any national flag contains at least one of these colours.

The original Olympic Games began in ancient Greece in 776 B.C. These games were part of a festival held every fourth year in honour of God Zeus at the place called Olympia. It was a great athletic festival, including competitions in wrestling, foot racing and chariot racing, rowing and others.

The games were for men only. Greek women were forbidden not only to participate but also to watch the Olympics.

The first modern Olympic Games were held in Athens in 1896. Then they were resumed in London after the Second World War. Since then the Olympics are held every fourth year in different countries.

The ancient Greeks had no winter sports. Only in 1924 the first Winter Olympic Games were held in France. Now they are being held regularly.

- There were 15 sports. Let’s check up your knowledge in sport. The picture will be shown. You have to say what sport it is.

- Tell me, what place has the Russian team taken? And do you know the Russian Olympic champions. You have 3 minutes to name Russian Olympic Winners in Sochi and their sport. Did you understand the task?

- I want you to sing a refrain of the song “We are the champions”.
