Сценарий праздника

« easter»

(для 5-7 классов)

Оформление: картинки, различные украшения (бумажные яйца, кролики, цветы), пасхальное дерево (ветка, украшенная игрушками в виде пасхальных яиц). Специально к празднику подобрана музыка, записаны песни. За две недели до праздника вводится лексика по теме «easter», что позволяет лучше подготовиться и с интересом участвовать во всех конкурсах и в самом празднике. До праздника проводится конкурс на лучшую пасхальную открытку и игрушку.

Ход праздника

Участники праздника могут принять участие в конкурсах на лучшую пасхальную маску или головной убор (это может быть: ярко раскрашенная полумаска, маска пасхального кролика или цыпленка; шляпа-цилиндр, шляпа с яркими цветами, головные повязки, украшенные цветами и пасхальными символами).

Ведущие праздника располагаются за столом, на котором стоят пасхальные блюда (разноцветные яйца, пасхальные булочки, печенье, торты), пасхальное дерево. Все ведущие имеют в своих костюмах пасхальные символы (яркие головные уборы, маски, эмблемы).

Зажигается пасхальная свеча, звучит музыка.

Dear boys and girls! Dear guests! We are here to celebrate a wonderful spring holiday - easter. Happy Easter to you! But at first we are going to tell you about the origin of this holiday, its traditions and symbols. The word «Easter» comes from «Easter» or «Eostre», the Anglo-Saxon goddess of the dawn whose spring festival was celebrated in April. Before the arrival of Christianity, people believed that the sun died in winter and was born again in spring; on the day of the spring equinox they would sing and dance as the sun rose in the sky.

Many countries took their name for Easter from the Jewish festival of Passover. The first Easter took place during the Passover Feast, which is always celebrated at full moon, so to keep Easter Day on a Sunday it was decided that Easter should always be celebrated on the Sunday Following the first full moon after the spring equinox (21 March). Many countries and cultures hold spring festivals around Easter time.

Shrove Tuesday, the day before Lent begins, is celebrated in many countries with carnivals. The word «Lent» comes from «Lengthen», the old English word for «spring», the time whet the days begin to lengthen. Lent lasts for 40 days and 40 nights (from Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, to Easter Sunday, not including the Sundays between), as a reminder of Christ’s fasting in the wilderness. During Lent Christians give up something they like to remind them not to be selfish, and perhaps to give the money which has been saved to give others.

Palm Sunday is so-called because Jesus is said to have ridden into Jerusalem on a donkey just before His death, welcomed by the people waving palm branches. Churches are decorated with palm branches on this day; in Britain people used to go (a) palming two or three days before Palm Sunday, to collect yew, hazel or willow branches, since palm trees do not grow in northern countries. On Maundy Thursday, the day when Jesus was said to have washed the feed of his disciple, a tradition developed in Britain, Austria, Russia, France and Spain for rich or noble people to give money or food to the poor. Good Friday is the day on which Jesus died. In Eastern churches it is known as Great Friday. The next day is the day of preparation for Easter in many parts of the world. Easter Sunday is a holiday, when people can wear new clothes as a sign of the changing seasons, different celebrations and competitions take place.

And now we are going to tell you about Easter traditions and symbols.

the cross. Christ was crucified on a cross, so the cross has come to have special meaning to Christians. It represents Christ’s victory over death. It is a significant Easter symbol.

the lamb. Jesus was known as the lamb of God. At one time, the Jews sacrificed a lamb during a Passover festival and early Christians adopted this as a sign of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Lamb is now a traditional Easter meal, and cakes are often made in the shape of a lamb for Easter.

eggs. Eggs represent new life. Long ago, some people believed that the Earth was hatched from a gigantic egg! Eggs have been exchanged for centuries. Ancient Egyptians dyed eggs and gave them to friends as gifts.

easter rabbits. In America and around the world, many children believe that the Easter bunny brings Easter eggs and hides them fir finding on Easter morning. It is also true that in ancient Egypt the rabbit symbolized the moon. It is also symbolized new life and birth. Because Easter’s date is determined by the moon and Easter occurs in the springtime, it was natural that the rabbit continued to be one of the symbols of Easter.

Children! Are you ready to play Easter games and take part in Easter competitions? OK!

Следующие конкурсы можно провести в виде соревнования команд, а можно, чтобы в конкурсах участвовали разные учащиеся. Победители конкурсов награждаются пасхальными сладостями и сувенирами.

1. «hatch match» Cut 10 (12,14,16 et.) egg shapes from different patterns of wallpaper. Draw a zigzag line across each egg and cut along the lines. To play, scramble the pieces and match the halves (побеждают те учащиеся (команда), которые быстрее всех нашли свои половинки яиц).

2. «hatch an egg» Fill several plastic eggs (их можно взять от яиц «киндерсюрприза». Вместо пластиковых яиц можно использовать яйца, вырезанные из бумаги) with a word that is part of a sentence. The first player «hatches» an egg, reads the word and writes it on the blackboard (chalkboard). The next player chooses an egg and writes the word in somewhere before or after the word already on the blackboard. When all the eggs have been hatched, the that has arranged the words in a logical sentence scores a point.

The sentences may be:

1 I am a funny little bunny.

2 We like Easter buns and biscuits.

3 The Easter bunny brings the Easter eggs.

4 The rabbit is a symbol of the Easter moon.

3 Art competition.

Draw a face of a funny Easter bunny. (Лучшие рисунки определяют зрители).

(Слова написаны на плакате. Если соревнуются команды, то расшифровывают слова по очереди. Если личное первенство, то могут записать слова на листке бумаги: кто быстрее напишет).

1. Competition for the best skipper.

Skipping games. Skipping is a very old activity on God Friday. Let’s see who is the best skipper! ( учащиеся по очереди прыгают на скакалках. Присутствующие вслух: One, two, three...» Считают количество прыжков. Кто дольше всех прыгал, тот и победил).

6. A game «Who stole my egg?»

Выходит один из учеников, надевает маску кролика (Rabbit musk), садится на стул спиной к зрителям. Руки у него за спиной, а в руках яйцо. Кто-то из зрителей тихо подходит, берет яйцо, садится на свое место. Ученик, выступающий в роли кролика, со словами:

«I am the Easter bunny. Who stole my egg?» - пытается найти яйцо. Если угадает с трех раз, получает приз.

1. «Hunting for Easter eggs». (Используя код нужно расшифровать секретное послание, сообщающее, где находится золотое пасхальное яйцо (яйца). Кто первым (команда или один участник) расшифровывает послание, тот и получает этот приз.

Use the code to learn the secret. Write the letters on the correct lines. (код с алфавитом и цифрами на плакате. Само зашифрованное послание тоже на плакате).

the easter egg is under the easter tree.

1. После конкурсов и игр подводятся итоги конкурса на лучшую пасхальную открытку и сувенир. После этого можно провести конкурс на лучшую пасхальную маску и головной убор. Под музыку участники в масках и головных уборах проходят перед зрителями. Владельцы самых красивых и оригинальных масок и головных уборов награждаются призами. Праздник можно завершить пасхальным чаепитием и танцами.

Перед праздником можно провести также конкурс на лучший литературный перевод стихотворения с пасхальным сюжетом (смотри в приложении).
