Новогодний марафон «Новый год в разных странах».

Цели: обобщение изученного материала по теме «Новый год в разных странах», актуализация лексических навыков, тренировка навыков чтения и аудирования.

Оборудование: карточки с текстами «Merry Christmas», аудиокассета с записью песни,3 набора предложений( стихотворение, разрезанное по строчкам), задание на карточках для конкурса 1.

Ход мероприятия.

-Good morning, boys and girls! I am glad to see you. Today we shall find out how people celebrate the New Year in different countries. I want you to divide into three teams and then we shall start our work.

-There will be 3 teams today. And two pupils or judges will help me to check up your answers.Let us start our competition with the song «Jingle,Bells».

Учитель предлагает учащимся исполнить песню в начале мероприятия.

Конкурс 1.

-Read the short texts how people celebrate the New Year in different countries and choose the correct version.

1.Madrid,New York,Moscow

In this city a lot of people gather in the central square and watch the “Big Apple” fall.It is a moving picture of an apple on a side of one of the big buildings. When it gets to the bottom it is the start of the new year.

2.Japan,Italy,Canada

In this country housewives start to cook special food, members of the families do a big cleaning up. On the television or on the radio you can hear 108 bells. The 108 th bell rings just a second before the midnight.

3.The USA,Scotland,India.

People call the New Year’s Eve…………….. The first pearson who comes to your house brings you luck. At midnight the head of the family opens the entrance door and holds it wide until the last stroke of the clock. He has let the old year out and let the New Year in.

4.Egypt, Ireland,Australia .

This country is called……………………… During the Christmas holidays people often sunbathe on the beach and surf in the ocean. Many people go for the picnic. In January the temperature is about 20 degrees above zero or higher.

5.France, Italy,Germany.

In this country it can be dangerous to have a walk at night,people usually throw the old things from the house through the window. They believe that the magician Befaniya comes to the houses through the chimney and put presents for the children in their shoes.

Конкурс 3.

-Make up new words using the letters of the word ‘Congratulations’.

Учитель привлекает внимание детей к слову, заранее написанному на доске.Учащиеся составляют новые слова, используя буквы данного слова. На выполнение данного задания детям отводится 3 минуты.

Конкурс 4.

-Now you will listen to the song and write down the missing words on the cards.You will listen to the song twice.

Команды получают карточки со словами песни,в которой пропущены некоторые слова.Задание-прослушать аудиозапись и записать недостающие слова. После проверки данного задания учитель может предложить ученикам исполнить песню хором( можно взять любую песню о Новом годе, запись которой имеется в наличии в кабинете).

Конкурс 5.

-It is time for the last task now.I want you to put the words in their logical order and read the poem.

Каждая команда получает набор предложений для составления стихотворения.После того,как стихотворение будет составлено, его необходимо выразительно прочитать.

Every little boy has lots of fun

With his trumpet and his gun.
