1. Приветствие
- Hello, boys and girls! I’m glad to see you! Today we’ll have an unusual lesson – a competition «Animal-Quiz». We are going to play in two teams.
2. Жеребьевка
- Let's divide into 2 teams. We'll do it with a funny rhyme:
10 little Indians
One little, two little, three little Indians Four little, five little, six little Indians Seven little, eight little, nine little Indians Ten little Indian boys.
Ten little, nine little, eight little Indians Seven little, six little, five little Indians Four little, three little, two little Indians One little Indian boy.
-Those who are countable numbers will go to the first team. Those who are uncountable will go to the second team.
- Give names to your teams.
- We’ve got 6 contests. You’ll get special “SMILES” for each answer. At the end of our competition we’ll count your smiles. The team that gets more smiles is the winner.
Well, let’s begin our competition.
- To warm up we shall start with songs and poems.
What song and poems about animals do you know? You’ll get “SMILE” for each song or poem.
“PUZZLE”
The second contest is “Puzzle”. I give each team a box of letters where some animals are hidden. Your task is to find as many animals as you can in 5 minutes.
You’ll get a smile for each correct word.

Look here! I’ve got a picture from a book for little children. Here you see a doll and your task is to complete the picture with words as to describe all the parts of the body. I give you 5 minutes to complete this task. You’ll get one smile for each correct word.
“Magic Box”
The next contest is called “Magic Box”. I’ve got a magic box with some animals in it. Your task is to guess the animals. You can ask me different questions about the animal’s color, size, the food it likes and so on. The team which guesses the animal will get the SMILE.
The animals: crocodile, cow, fox, tiger.
The children's questions:
Is it white/black/brown etc?
Is it big/small?
Is it a domestic/wild animal?
Has it a long/short tail/neck/ears etc?
Does it live on a farm/in the forest?
“The Funny Riddle”
- Do you like riddles? I think you do! But now you won’t guess riddles, you’ll make them! Each team will guess some animal and make a riddle about it. You’ll reads your riddles to your classmates and those who guesses the animal will win.
Example: It is big. It has a long neck and a long tail. It is a wild animal. It lives in Africa. It eats leaves of the trees (A giraffe).
“The Missing Animal”
- Children! We have a problem! One animal is missing from the zoo! And we should help the zoo to find it? The manager of the zoo sent me a description of this animal. Please, help me to make a picture of this animal. I'll read the description to you and you'll draw it. The picture that is more detailed will get more SMILES.
Description: It is little. It is grey. It has a long thin tail. It has big round ears. It has 4 little paws. It has 2 little black eyes, a little head, a long pink nose and very big whiskers. (A mouse).
