Aims: To improve the cognitive interest in the English language. To develop the skills of students in listening, reading and speaking. To improve the logical taught.

The procedure of the lesson

Teacher: Good day dear teachers, pupils and guests! Welcome to our intellectual show! We are glad to see you and we hope that you will enjoy today’s game.

Languages are the main type of means of communication. There are nearly 3000 languages in the world. Kazakh is our native language. English and Russian are the languages of the international communication, they are the languages of Pushkin, Lermontov, Shakespeare, Byron Esenin, Burns, whom we loved and respect for the poems, sonnets, and novels.

Using foreign languages we can communicate with other, through the Internet or get necessary information from it and with the help Russian and Kazakh we can develop our skills in oral speech and reading and bring up us period of our Motherland

Now we want to divide you into three groups by cards with numbers. Take the cards.

We have prepared five tasks for you. If you deal with each task you will give points. The team collected more points will be the winner.

Level I “All about us”

Well we began our game and let’s meet our participants. We want to know more about you. Guys, tell about yourselves. You can use English, Kazakh and Russian.

Level 2 ‘’ Country studying’’

A man who know many languages has no barriers and difficulties, especially in the first level

• What waterfall is there in the USA? (The Niagara Waterfall)

• Where is the United Kingdom of Great Britain situated? (In the Europe)

• How many parts are there in the United Kingdom of Great Britain? (four)

• What is the national symbol of England? (red rose)

• What language do Americans speak? (American English)

• How many stars are there in American flag? (50)

• What is the capital of The USA (Washington)

• The residence of the president in the USA? (White House)

Level 3 “Riddles”

Now you will be given by three riddles in three languages. You have to guess them and translate this word.

Level 4 “Proverbs”

Are you good at proverbs? The next task connects with them. You have to find the Kazakh and Russian equivalents to the following proverbs. Look at the screen.

Level 5 “My country”

Kazakhstan is our Motherland. We live in the greatest country. I think that each person is proud of its country, native languages and nation. I want to offer for you an interesting task. You have to describe your country to foreign friend. Whose describing will be better?
