The theme of the lesson: Omar’s album.

The aim of the lesson: To enrich pupil’s knowledge about animals. To develop pupils reading, listening, writing skills and their vocabulary. To check their understanding. To bring up the children to love nature.

Visual aids: pictures, the interactive board, a book.

Inter-subject connection: Kazakh, biology.

Type of the lesson: creative lesson.

The procedure of the lesson.

I. Evocation.

a) Greeting.

b) Conversation with the duty.

Well, let’s begin our lesson. Today’s our lesson is about of animals.

Teacher: What kind of animals do you know which lives in water (sea, ocean)?

Pupils: It’s a whale, dolphin, a shark.

Today’s our lesson we talk about the whales. I show the picture of whale. And now answer my question: what do you know about whales?

It’s a big fish.

They live in water.

They breathe air though a hole in the top of their head.

The whale is killer.

Its colour is grey.

II. Realization of meaning.

         Now, open  your  books at page 50 and 51. Let’s read the texts “Ocean world: whales” and “Do you  know this?”. Children let’s write the second scheme on the blackboard.

They are not fish.

They have warm blood.

They can stay under water about an hour without breathing.

It has a big mouth, 4 meters in depth.

From oil can making soap and burning in lamps.

From 114 to 228 liters of oil.

Ex4 p 16 ( We must correct the mistakes)

  1. Whale like fish, but they aren’t. They are mammal.
  2. Whale are intelligent like dog and chimpanzee.
  3. Even though they live in sea, ocean and river whale are not fish.
  4. Fish lay egg and do not feed their off spring.
  5. There are many kinds of  Whale. Most Whale are hung creature. The largest Whales are called blue Whale.
  6. Blue Whale are much larger than elephant and largest than any of the extinct dinosaur.
  7. Heart  of a blue Whale is about the size of a compact car. Its main blood  vessel, the aorta, is Large enough for a person to crawl through.
  8. Human being have hunted and killed Whales since ancient times. Aside from people, Whale have no natural enemy. Today many people are trying to stop hunting of  Whales.

III. Reflection.

To work with groups.

Teacher: Now, pupils  at the end of our lesson I want to know what did you know about whales?

Pupil1: It’s the biggest animal in the sea

Pupil2: It  30 meters long.

It’s mouth is 4 meters in depth

From 114 to 228 liters of oil

Pupil3: It lives in water and etc.

And in conclusion what will you want to know about Whale’s world? Let’s write the third scheme.
