А приготовление девочками фруктового салата на уроке поможет закрепить использование глаголов, необходимых для написания рецепта.Этапы урока способствуют развитию креативности и воображения у учащихся.

Form 7. Lesson,
The Theme: My Favourite Recipes.
The Objectives: To enable students to discuss food and find out their favourite dishes.
To learn Vocabulary on food preparation.
To encourage creativity and imagination.
To teach communication and team work.
To talk about the importance of eating healthy food.
To share opinions about the basic types of food groups.
To prepare to write a food recipe.
To watch and discuss some videos.
The Visual Aids: Proverbs about eating and food.
An interactive board to watch videos and do tasks.
Some vegetables and fruit to make salads.

Org. moment. Good morning. Lovely to see again. What date is it today? What day of the week is it?
Introducing the theme of the lesson. Today we are going to talk about cooking and learning to write your favourite recipes. Do you like to cook? Who cooks in your family? What can you cook? How often do you cook? Can you make salads/tea/soup? Can you fry/boil potatoes? Can you bake? What can you bake? Etc.
Discussing some sayings about cooking. “No one is born to be a great cook, one learns by doing.” A recipe has no soul. You as a cook must bring soul to the recipe.”
Matching some English proverbs: their beginnings and ending are mixed, you are to match them. ( Appendix 1).
Talking about some rules one should keep to be healthy. ( Appendix 2).
Talking about healthy food. What is healthy food? What five basic types of food do you know? (Meat group, milk group, fruit and vegetables group, bread-cereal group, fats and sugar group). Looking at Food Pyramid and sharing ideas about their importance because they provide us with vitamins.
Singing a song “Healthy Food Song.” (Appendix 3).
T.: Yes, healthy food with a lot of vitamins tastes so good. You’ll be in a good mood if you cook only healthy food.
8. Watching a video where the teacher introduces her favourite recipe and teaches how to make a vegetable salad with cabbage and cheese.
10. Making a fruit and vegetable salads. ( On the table there is an apple, a pear, a banana, some grapes and a lemon. On the other table there is a tomato, a cucumber, a pepper, salt, some parsley and a lemon). T.: Who can make a fruit salad? Who can make a vegetable salad? Two students come up to the tables and start making salads. While they are working all the rest students are doing some tasks.
11. Reading the recipe and finding the odd sentence:
a) Take three bananas. e).Mix with cream.
b). Wash the fruit. f).Add some tomatoes.
c). Cut into pieces. g).Put some pieces of orange on the top.
d).Add some lemon juice.
12. Completing the sentences with a word from the list. Using each word once only.
Add beat cool grate heat melt peel pour slice sprinkle
….. the potatoes and ……them thinly.
……the eggs in a bowl, and …….them to the mixture.
……the butter in a saucepan and ……. Gently for two minutes.
……the mixture into a bowl and leave to …… .
…….some cheese, and ……. Over the potatoes.
13. Presenting the salads. T.: Our cooks have already made the salads and are ready to present them. ( the students are describing the procedure of making a salad).
Fruit salad: I removed the stones and sliced the apple and the pear. Before I peeled the banana and sliced it too. I cut grapes into two halves. Then I sprinkled the salad with some sugar and flavoured by lemon juice. Enjoy yourselves.
The second student is describing how to make a vegetable salad.
17. Homework: to read the story “Stone soup” and write a favourite recipe of a salad. T.:I have already prepared a cover for the Cooking Book of our favourite recipes. Next lesson you to read your recipes and we create a cookery book.
18. Reflexion: T.: I am eager to learn your opinions about our lesson. Did you like it? What did you like best? What new things did you learn? Can you use it? Etc.
19. Making conclusions. Appreciating active students, giving marks.
20. Singing a song “Cooking by the book.” (watching a video).

Matching the English proverbs:

A recipe of a vegetable salad with cabbage and cheese:
Ingredients: cabbage, tomatoes, cucumber, a pepper, salt, a lemon, some cheese.
Chop the cabbage, salt it.
Slice pepper.
Slice cucumbers.
Slice tomatoes.
Mix vegetables in a bowl.
Grate some cheese and sprinkle it on the top.
Pour some oil or squeeze some lemon. Enjoy yourselves!
