Урок английского языка по теме "Facts and myths about health" был проведен в 8 классе. T: – Good morning, everybody! I’m very glad to see you at today’s lesson. How are you?
P: – I’m fine, thanks. And how are you?
T: – I’m fine too. Thank you.
T: – Is there anything more important than health? I do not think so. You can’t be good at your studies or work well when you are ill. You have already learnt a lot of words on this topic, you know everything about good and bad healthy habits. But not all information about health is accurate. That’s why today we’ll try to understand the facts and myths about our health. So the topic of our lesson is «Facts and myths about your health». You will know something interesting and new for you. I hope that our co-operation will be important and useful for you and for me.
You see that your health is in your own hands.
Thousands years ago ancient Greeks said: «Health is the greatest wealth». These words will be the motto of today’s lesson.
2. Фонетическаязарядка. (4 мин.)
T: - It’s time to practice today’s vocabulary. Look at the screen. You can see some pictures with different activities. Tell me please what are good health habits and what are bad habits.
P: Good are: go in for sport, do exercises, eating healthy food etc.
Bad are: smoking, drinking alcohol, eating sweets, sleeping too much or too little etc.
T: And now you can see two columns of words. Can you match the words from the first column and the second one to make up the word combinations?

Т: - It’s time to go to our Student’s books. Open please your SB on page 136.
T.: To speak about health you must know some words. Read them: (слова на экране)

Books, newspapers, radio, television give all kinds of information about health. Not all of it, however, is accurate information. Look at the pieces of information. What products do you think each piece of information is about?

T: Now you will listen to the information and check your suggestions.

T: You have listened to the statements about healthy food and herbs and their influence on people, that’s why it’ll be easy for you to make this scheme.
(на доске схематично изображен человек, ученики распределяют упомянутые в тексте для аудирования продукты питания, которые так или иначе влияют на организм человека).
5. Физкультминутка. (2 мин.)
На доске рисунок солнца и тучи, ученики распределяют таблички с привычками человека по группам: bad habits, good habits.
6. Работа с текстом. (8 мин.)
T: Everyone can choose between good and bad health habits, but doctors always give us advices how to stay healthy. On the presentation you can see a text. Please read this text and write down good and bad health habits.
(ученики читают текст про себя и заполняют таблицы)
T: - People say that you are what you eat .Nowadays there is a large group of people who are called vegetarians. Are your friends or relatives vegetarians? Let’s read the text about them and find out the reasons why people choose this way of life.
(ученики читают текст вслух и отвечают на вопросы)
- Is it good or bad to be vegetarians?
- Can you name the reasons why people become vegetarians?
7. Работа в группах. (5 мин.)
Формируются группы по 3-4 ученика.
T: -Put the words in the logical order and translate the sentences.
1 Wealth, is, good, above, health. (Good health is above wealth)
2 Health, fit, food, to, eat, food, keep. (Eat healthy food to keep fit)
3 Be, take, a, shower, cool, to, healthy. (Take a cool shower to be healthy)
